Britany! So glad to hear fro you! I always wonder about how you are doing... and now I know :) Pinched nerves suck! I had one in my back too (from painting my condo!) but I didn't need to take a full month off from the gym! (I can't, really! I teach most of the classes I used to do! LOL) Sounds like yours is a really bad case! I am sure you'll start feeling WAY better soon once the inflamation has gone down! Keep up with those walks when you are able, it will really keep your spirits up!
As for my background photo, ya... that's me! I had been trying to get that pose (Crow) for at least a year or more! I have balanced it befort but never have I felt so confident in the pose! I actually had to use the self timer on my camera to take that picture, so I had only 10 seconds to hit my shutter button on my camera then run around onto my mat and get inot position! I think that's one of my biggest accomplishments all month!
I live in Calgary, Aberta... In the south west part of the province of Alberta! (If you google map it, you'll see my waving at you, LOL!) It's pretty cold and snowy here too these days... outdoor adventures are going ot have to wait till the snow really flies! (Cross country skiing and snowshoeing! WOOT!)

Have you always lived in Alaska??? I didn't think you did before! PS... No, I am NOT a PT, I work in oil & gas and I sit in a desk all day! Blah... but I am a Group Exercise instructor in my spare time, or during my lunch hours :)
I hope you start feeling better soon! I had a similar thing (well, I pinched a nerve in my back from painting my condo) and I had to take muscle relaxants to ease the pain and I took many hot baths! Massage has always been very effective at easing any of my back or muscle pain, so that would be my first suggestion to you... but since you say it's not been helping... I would maybe suggest a change in diet is in order! Perhaps cutting out sodium will make you feel better!
