WATCH IT COME OFF!

I am a yo-yo dieter and of an age that it's time to finally loose the weight and keep it off. I'm aiming for a loss of 1 lb/week and should reach my goal by July 2012. I am a life time member of W8Watchers, but a "fallen angel".

My overall goal is to pave the way for me to live the rest of my life in optimal health. I want to feel as young as I am in my mind's eye!

Update: Today, May 15th, is my One Year Anniversary with Spark people.com! It has been an interesting and challenging journey. Originally, I set my goal for a loss of 70 pounds, which would have moved me from my start of 211 to 141. Since reaching that, I have reset my goal in terms of a healthy BMI of 23?.. now I'm aiming for a weight of about 136 pounds, with the aim of never going above 140 longer term. It's a different stage now in terms of trying to be a bit more balanced with living life. I feel very fit but the psychology of maintaining a healthy weight is a yet unknown and a bit scary.. to have worked so hard to "get here". I will keep you posted and for anyone reading this, if you have reached your goal and maintained it for some time I'd like to know how you did it. There are days more frequently now than in my earlier part of this journey where I just want to hang my hat up, so to speak, and go on holiday!

Update May 13/13: My Two Year Anniversary!
A lot has happened this past 8 months. Last Sept. I became ill and lost more weight.. down to 130 lbs. I remain off work at this time, and because I have been bedridden for part of the year and recovering, I ate more than I should have.. even though I pushed myself to exercise. I will be better but it will likely take many more months. Now is a time of recuperation.. I'm not feeling 100% but so much better that I was looking into buying a bike... something I had planned to do last year but put off as I started feeling so unwell. Bottom line, I have gained 10 lbs that need to go. I made myself change my ticker to reflect this. Better now than wait any longer! Wish me well as I wish you all the best in your efforts too!

Personal Information:
I live in Ontario, Canada and have been married to a wonderful man for 39 years! Five years ago in January we lost our 21 year old son Michael to depression. It has been a long struggle back to caring about anything. I will always be defined by my three children, it's just that two are no longer with us.

I enjoy the four seasons of Canada, even winter!! I like working out on the treadmill at home and at the gym, the elliptical.

I absolutely am in my groove when I am out in nature! Gardening is my favourite hobby, where I feel the presence of Michael most keenly and my way of play and meditation.

Other Information:
I try to take life one day at a time, especially when it comes to weight loss and lifestyle change. Patience is key!

Thanks for checking in on me. I am still here. I haven't been online much lately. Busy with son's activities lately. I still workout 4 days a week and have maintained my 70 lb. weight loss but, am struggling with my food. It is a real challenge to eat healthy and not give in to those extra calories from snacks and sweets.

I would like to lose 30 lbs. during this summer. I have several trips planned and that always causes me stress but, I am making a plan and will hopefully be able to lose some weight by eating right and staying active.

Have a wonderful Memorial day weekend and keep Sparkin'...it works!

Thanks for the tips. I may try the Epson salts. Forgot about that one! As for the CPAC, I am still trying to get used to that, but I wonder if its helping.I find my adrenaline still goes off the same amount of times (2-3 am and again at 5. ) so far I dont sleep any more than I do. But I do find when I get to bed by 9 pm I can sleep 4 hours of sleep s traight before I wake up. Its the only thing that has improved; going to bed earlier,
Thanks or responding on my blog. Susana

Thank you for stopping by my Sparkpage for my 1 year Sparkversary! I haven't been on Spark much this past month. Things are sooo busy now. I have maintained a 70 lb. weight loss and workout 5 days a week but, I am taking in more calories than I should so I haven't lost any more weight.

I hope to be back to losing again soon. I feel great and have enjoyed buying new clothes. My goal is still to lose another 50+ lbs. I know I will eventually reach my goal. Until then, I am enjoying my new life and staying busy.

I plan to write an anniversary blog in the next couple days with a new photo. Best wishes to you!
