Oh. My. Goodness. I wonder when I first joined Spark...and how many times I've updated this, and how much my life has changed since joining. Thanks to my buddy Sallie, I'm motivated to not just track my food and working out, but getting into the social support aspect part of SP...and thus here I am... updating my Blog....again
I had my son in July of 09. I gained about 50lbs during pregnancy, and was on the way to losing the baby weight when a noncancerous tumor (ameloblastoma) was removed from my jawbone in Oct '09. Then I had a hip graft in Mar '10, and another surgery in Feb'11. The last one left me wired shut for 6 weeks, which did wonders to losing that baby weight. I went from about 170lbs to around 155lbs. Then the wires came off...and well-I love food. I went down to MS for a 2 month training, had a grande time working out and all that jazz...until I got back home and reality hit of being a mom and wife... and then having to move across the ocean and to the middle of the Mainland.
My diet is limited because of my jaw procedures. Ideally the doctors would have me eating "soft foods" but I survive the pain by not eating raw vegetables (carrots, celery, broccoli, etc), and sometimes suffering through to get an iron dose by eating a filet mignon.
I've survived my fourth jaw surgery, and was recently cut free from being wired shut for 6.5 weeks (which helped me lose 20lbs, but I had definitely gained some weight beforehand). Now I'm trying to maintain the weight loss and slowly get back into shape, without killing myself.
I would like to:
-On my PT test: max out situps (53); do 30 pushups, and run in 14:30 (that's a huge deal for me, since I haven't run the 1.5mile test since Oct 2008) [took PT test 9/26/11: 53 situps, 32 pushups, 14:08 run] but now I need to get back to this... I've slacked off a lot!
-Have people asking me if I've lost weight
-Love working out
-Have my thighs not rubbing together
-Accomplish a Half Ironman
-Get my %Body Fat down to 25%
Aug 09: 184 lbs
Aug 10: 170 lbs
Sep 11: 159 lbs
Nov 11: 170 lbs :(
Apr 12: 153 lbs
My eating is mostly Paleo: (meat/nuts/veggies/fruits - no dairy/grains/legumes)
My workout is mostly Jillian Michaels DVDs and my favorite intermittent "cardio paloozas" (20min treadmill/20min stationary bike/20min elliptical) with assisted pullups/dips between each
I'm from Reno, NV/Honolulu HI. I'd love to meet up with anyone else at Ft Campbell, KY/Clarksville, TN or around my area to work out with.
I like to dig into the Bible to study God's promises and who He is. I LOVE the beach...I'm looking for a buddy to work out with!

Thanks for thinking of me love! I'm definitely going to keep my eye out for a food processor ASAP. Its on my list of 'things the house needs' before winter.... right now, i'm slowly getting more comfortable with oodles of veggies in my house (thanks to the 1 lb of lettuce we had to eat in like 3 days, hahaha)

Good job chickee! Always getting back on the workout bus is definitely the hardest part - but you did it! Yesterday I did treadmill time myself and did a 5k (43 minutes, kinda sucky, but its still something)
That is a great idea for a snack, especially since I LOVE blueberries and well pretty much any fruit! I'll definitely have to give it a go! Last night, I did my stirfry, 4oz chicken breast, bell peppers, zucchini, yellow squash, and whatever else veggie I can find to chop up and put in it. :-)
Keep up the great work lady! I love all your foodie suggestions too! Hope we can skype soon too! Tonight I'm going to zuzuzuzumba!!!
