My New Life in a new Community

I have been a member for a couple years now under Bgailsews but lost all my teams, pages and everything else I had saved. So this is truely a 'starting over' day and it will take a while to get it all set up again. I was panicing over losing all my Spark Friends but I found you all again. Bear with me!

My Goals:
Goals are not easy to keep but they are a reminder. I am eating more fruits and fresh vegetables (lots of salads w/LowFat Ranch Dressing. I very seldom fry chicken, although it is my very favorite. Red meat is not my favorite so I rarely eat it and then it is just a small portion. Much cheaper on the grocery bill. My downfall is bread but most of it is whole grain wheat. I use pepper instead of salt because I think I get enough otherwise.

My Program:
I walk the halls and stairs in our building for exercise and rarely take the elevator. It takes about a half hour to walk the whole building and I don't have to worry about weather.

Personal Information:
I have been living in a 55+ apartment complex for a year now and it is very nice. There are many new friends to visit with in the social room downstairs but I don't go everyday.

Other Information:
I read all the time and spend many hours on spark pages, probably too much but I have an addictive personality.

Brenda,
Thank you so much for your comment and advice regarding CD. I pay for the cell phone and that is why I took it away. If she doesn't want to live with me, I don't feel I should pay for it. Her boyfriend can buy her one. I just bought a couple of books to maybe help me deal with this situation. emoticon

Brenda, You took me back to my past. I had an alterations shop, I love to sew. I was president of the Maine dressmakers guild but I liked alterations the best. Eventually I did no custom sewing.
When I was disabled I had hoped to be able o do it again but that never happened. When I went to social security I was told I had very little benefit. I had a shop, I paid rent. I had a helper just so I could get my work done, I paid her and I paid her FIFA.
Out of my highest 120 years of earning I had shown a loss of 6 out of 10. that means after 25 years I have hardly any social security. We did everything by the book. Most of the few who sewed in town never declared income. Dry cleaners wanted my service but they would always pay under the table so I never worked for them. When they had poor jobs and asked me to redo it. I never did. I sewed for Patagonia in a lot of states they did not do alterations but they gave out my name. I never asked them to but someone admired m y work..
I have a US Blind stitch machine, 3 sergers and 4 other machines. I even have a steamer an d 3 gravity irons that we all love to use at the house. I still do my own alterations and I do sew for older clients who I had sewn for over the years. I miss it but I never realized how little I actually earned, we paid an accountant and he never pointed it out I was losing money. It takes a lot of time to do and pay for the overheads but I was Na´ve so here I am still loving my sewing machines and DH and I are happy. HUGS and Much love. Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon

BRENDA

Thanks for the info and the concern. I actually seem to have gotten over this virus all by myself. I almost never am able to do that.

Generally what happens, is that I get over the virus, and then get a secondary bacterial sinus infection and sometimes bronchitis. I have been extremely ill over the years with sinus and bronchitis, and even pneumonia.

A few years ago, my Dr introduced me to the Sinus Rinse bottle. I can still get a secondary sinus infection, but I rarely get the lung involvement anymore.

Actually am pretty excited that I recovered on my own this time.

Have a great day.

Bonnie
