I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I have tried every diet and read so my weight loss books. I joined a weight loss group called TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) in 1999. It took me two years to lose 145Ibs. I still attend TOPS meetings weekly. I need the group support and need the weekly weigh in. I eat a low fat diet with lots of fruits and vegetables. I eat lean protein mainly chicken or pork. I exercise twice a day when possible. I love to walk outside and ride my bike. I joined a Fitness Center four years ago. I try to lift weights 2 to 3 days a week. I use the treadmill, elliptical trainer, and ride an exericse bike. I'm trying to train to run in a 5k race. I had maintained my weight until January 2009. I had Abdominal Plastic surgery to have my excess stomach skin removed. I've had many very painful sores and infections on my abdomin due to all my extra skin folds from the weight loss. This surgery was very tramatic. I lived in a lazyboy recliner for three months. I could not lie in a bed for over three weeks. I could not do anytype of exercise for 3 months after my surgery. I just about went crazy with no physical activity. I watched every bite of food that I ate. I gained about 15Ibs. and have only lost about 5Ibs. since I started exercising again. It's been so frustrating that I'm having such a hard time getting the extra pounds off. When I went in for my physical my physcians assistant told me about Sparkpeople. I'm learning my way around the site and love it! I hope this site can help me get my extra pounds off. Wish me luck!!!

Hi Brenda,
I'm so sorry that it's taken me so long to respond to your message, don't seem to have a lot of "me" time these days. Our new grandbaby was due August 23rd, but she came on the 15th of August. Guess she was in a hurry. emoticon I've had ALOT of time with her because her mom hurt her back when the baby (Lily) was only a week old, so I spent my days (and some nights) over there taking care of Lily. She's doing better now.
Once I was done helping them, I was helping my oldest daughter get her house ready to sell. We're not quite done yet, but I needed a break. I'm getting too old for all of this physical labor. Lol.
My eating has gone out the window since I've been gone most days & find myself eating way too much fast food!! I'm trying to get back on my own schedule now and only eating here at home, so it has been better for the last week.
I can't believe your little guy is a year old already!! It seems like she just had him.......where does the time go?? I'm sure you're enjoying every minute of it though. So the daughter is ready for number 2? You ARE gonna have your hands full!!
Really enjoyed hearing from you. Hope everything is going great, up your way. Have a wonderful week!!

Beautiful day for sure Brenda, I suppose Ron is done harvesting. I just started yesterday, 27%, have only bin dryers with stiralls, so takes awhile. Beans still 2 weeks away. Sure been a good drying fall so far, I really needed that. Too late planting, too wet.

Hi Brenda!
Thanks so much for checking in. I've been thinking about you and was so glad to hear from you. I'm glad life is good for you and you are enjoying time with your little ones. It takes a lot of energy to keep up with those little legs and arms so I commend you on that!

Mom is declining but hanging in there. She is on hospice now and is keeping as active as possible. It's been a rough week for her but she had a visit from her nurse today and they increased her oxygen and that made an immediate improvement for her. It's been hard, but I try to separate the feelings from the facts and keep the mood positive and always with good humor and she really appreciates that. I left my job at the end of August to be her primary caregiver and a week after I left my husband was laid off of work. Sigh... So we don't have insurance and I suspect we'll lose the house, but I just try to focus on one day at a time and what's in front of me. Definitely do a lot of praying which is a tremendous comfort for me, even when I don't hear His voice.

I am definitely enjoying the fall weather! Monday was 80 degrees and now we are in the mid-60's which I just love. To me this is perfect weather and I love seeing the amazing sunsets. I always feel the most connected to nature at this time of year. It's almost a melancholy feeling, but peaceful as well.

I hope you have a good rest of your week, and please know that even if I don't write, I do think of you quite often. It's nice knowing I have a friend who's "down state". And it makes me especially happy knowing that you are happy and doing well.

Big Hugs my friend and Happy Autumn!!

Hi, Brenda,
I guess you enjoyed thee Jason Aldean concert.
I had a nice weekend as Anthony brought Eliana and the boys to our house for a. Visit. I just love holding and playing with Eliana, She is three months old already.
Only 17 days until we leave for San Diego. So exciting. Can't wait to see my son get married. He is such a good son that he said to tell my sister in Utah that we will go thru Utah and pick her up to go to his wedding. She really wants to go but couldn't find a flight or a way to get there or even meet us in St. George. I hadn't even said anything and my wonderful son came up with this idea. Of course, that made us both so happy, two old ladies crying!
I hope you are well and enjoying that beautiful grandson!
