Well, here I go. Again. I have lost count of how many times I have said, "This time, I'm going to lose the weight." And yet, here I am. At least this time will be different: I'm medicated and getting counseling for depression (should have done THAT ages ago), quit the gym I never went to anyway and joined one within walking distance of my house, started working with a personal trainer (o-so-very expensive, but o-so-very worth it if it's what works!), and posting on this thing. I am not so sure about the whole public part: sharing my story with an online community, public recognition of the reality of where I am or the declaration of my struggles, but maybe that's what I need. I used to hide food, and I know that didn't work, so wouldn't the same apply for hiding my weight?

My Goals:
#1. Get to a healthy weight and stay there.
#2. Exercise at least 5 or 6 times a week. Period. No excuses.
#3. Rebuild my self-esteem and learn to love myself for who I am.
#4. Make a lifestyle change for once and for all: healthy food choices, consistent exercise, and quit the negative self-talk!
#5. Get back to swimming and work up to hitting the pool at least 2 times a week.


My Program:
*EATING: Currently in a medically supervised weight-loss program through my doctor's office, using HMR products
*EXERCISE: Sticking to cardio for now--will add strength training when I am back up to a "normal" daily calorie range (currently at 500 calories/day)
