Back to regain control of my body and life.
Starting from scratch to regain my health.

May 2011 -
Still here...or maybe I should say I'm back.
Have realized that I still have to deal with the issues that have led to weight gain in the past. I maintained 163-5 for 2 years and in just the last few months I've gained 10. So time to start taking care of myself again. Write what I eat, drink water and move every day. :-)

July 2009 -
In Nov 2008 I decided to have WLS. I'd pushed with sparkpeople and lost 35 lbs in the months before surgery, and now I've lost another 50 or so. I'm down a 100 lbs from my high, and have confidence that I'm not going to regain it.

Losing might have been faster with WLS, but it still comes down to the same thing... eating right, in moderate amounts and exercising. Still relying on sparkpeople to help with all that.

2008 - New Year new purpose--
I am back to where I was in the beginning of 06. I'm about to turn 50 and realize how much I need to change for my quality of life. When I'm focused I'm good at loosing weight - up to about 20 lbs. This year I vow to break the yo-yo cycle and lose more and keep it off. I'll use every tool I can find to do that.

I discovered SP about 2004 through my employer (under another name:-), but initially didn't stick with it. Spring '06 I committed and am on the journey of my life - for my life. Helped along the way by a wonderful group of women (and a couple of guys) that I've found here.

I look back at my pictures and at each stage I thought I was SO FAT! Now I can see how beautiful I was - outside as well as inside. So I'm going to recapture that girl and all the fun energetic things she did!

During summer '06 I trained for and completed my first ever sprint triathlon--400 yd swim, 12.4mi bike and 2mi walk--in under 2 hours. I'm so amazed at myself.

But its time for the next adventure!

My Goals:
My goal is still to change my life, not just my body.
I strive to become a person of balance, health, and well being. I am working on a number of different things:
1. regular exercise (at least 6 x at 30mins.
2. Meditation-- learning to like myself.
3. Eating healthy - being mindful of what I'm eating and it's consequences.

Things I want to do again include riding horses, hiking with my husband and do an Olympic distance triathalon.


My Program:
Eat Healthy, cook at home, meditate, exercise everyday, do yoga, be happy.
Take care of myself

Get back on track.
