Hi, i am brandy, 35 yr. old w/ extensive health/weight issues. my diabetic nutritionist suggested sparkpeople, so here i am. i'm hoping to find some easy recipes that fit my many conditions. i am gluten-intolerant, am insulin dependent diabetic, have interstitial cystitis (very painful bladder disease--means NO acidic food: tomatoes, citrus, vinegars, berries, soy, coffee, ect.., i have hyperuriceria, meaning absolutely no oxolates--you know the really good for you food--green vegi's, blueberries, nuts ect. i have been vegetarian for most of my life, but w/ all these food restrictions i have began eating hormone-free organic chicken breast and turkey. my brother is one of my independent home health workers (i have alot of physical issues as well) and is in charge of my diet, food preparation. poor guy is at a loss. i can only tolerate 5 different vegi's, and 3 fruits. makes it a little difficult to be versatile. would also appreciate any good recipes for gluten-free breads, muffins, tortillas. i have a bread machine w/a gluten-free setting. i know all i did was describe negative things, but right now it's hard to be real positive. i am really hoping that sparkpeople will help me find the motivation i need.

My Goals:
my obvious goal is to lose this weight. however, the ultimate goal is to improve my health by making better food choices, exercising, and really learning to listen to my body.
My Program:
right now i am babystepping. first, i am getting a foundation of gluten free basic recipies that can be frozen and reheated. i am fairly new at using fast-acting insulin for my type 3 diabetes, so getting a handle on that is definetly a priority. i walk (w/a cane or walker) .5 miles 3x's a week right now. i know that sounds like nothing, but it is huge for me.
