It's Time to Win the War...

I have recently become a stay-at-home mom, after spending the last 11 years constantly working or being in school. It is a dramatic change of pace. I have always been overweight, although it increased dramatically when I started having kids, and went into overdrive when I went back to school full-time last year. I lost about 40 pounds 5 years ago, but have since gained 65. The real eye opener for me is watching my oldest, who is now 8, struggle with bad eating habits and slowly gain weight. ...
I come from a house where everyone struggled with weight, and I want to end the struggle with me. I want my family to have an active, healthy lifestyle, and maintain it this time!

My Goals:
My medium-term goal is to fit into the clothes hanging in my closet again, and long-term I would like to have to buy a whole new wardrobe!! To lose at least the 60 pounds I have put on over the last year!

My Program:
I recently revised my program. I try to do an hour of moderate-intensity cardio 5 days a week, and strength training one night a week. I cut out as much white flour and sugar as I could. I try very hard to stay in my calories!

Personal Information:
My name is Brandie, I have 3 beautiful children, the youngest being 2 1/2. We just moved to Germany from Texas, and it has been an adjustment, but it is the right time for changes in our lifestyle, eating healthier and being more active.

Other Information:
I recently graduated from nursing school, and I saw first-hand the devastating effects of obesity in people's lives. I don't want to live my retirement in and out of the hospital with diabetes or high blood pressure! There is never a better time than the present to make a change for the better, so here I am

Thank you for the kind words!
Sometimes we just have an off day.
But I bought my own scale and I am ready to start over and be serious.

You are so close to your goal, keep it up girl you will be there in no time.

Thanks for the comment! I am so glad I found this site. i think it's made me actually realize what i was putting in my body and why i was putting on so much weight in the first place. I had a very traumatic experience about 4 years ago, and since then had put on about 40 lbs. Like your picture, i'd be happy just to get back to that point, but I want to be even happier and lose all the extra weight. Your children are beautiful, and you'll be so happy you lost it for them!

Thank you for your comments! I know things are only going to get busier and crazier...I think I kind of thrive off of it (even though I don't always admit to it). I am the oldest of seven, the youngest being two years old, so I have had some practice. I did really well today and even wrote a food journal, thanks for your suggestions. You're children are beautiful, good luck with starting over in Texas!
