Attitudes are contagious.....Is yours worth catching?

Hi my name is Barb and I am new to lifestyle changes. I am a single mom of 2 beautiful children but I've realized that if I don't change my daughter won't either and she is headed in the wrong direction at the age of 12. I have blamed my insurance company for not helping me. I have blamed my dna for what I've been dealt. I've blamed the pain I feel when I walk for not exercising. The ugly truth is I have nobody to blame but myself.

Now that I've faced that ugly truth I am here ...

Now that I've faced that ugly truth I am here to stay. This website has given me the abiltity to realize that weight loss doesn't have to come from surgery or a magic pill. It can come from a desire deep within that chooses to make good decisions in what they are eating and what exercise does for ones body.

This journey is going to be long and there are going to be good moments as well as frustrating moments....but I'm in it to win it.

My Goals:
Weight loss and exercise.

Mini goals-Walk 5 miles a week in July and Bike 10 miles!

2 or 3 water aerobic classes and strength training a week for July.

Weight goal of 210 by August 1st.

Another size down by August 9th when we go back to work from summer vacation.

My Program:
No soda or sweets. Less processed food and better healthier choices. I workout at the Y at least once a day if not more. I love water aerobics and have made many friends there. I am sharing my victories with my children and they are joining me on my journey.

Personal Information:
I moved to Kansas in April of 2000. It was a great move because this is a wonderful place to raise children. I am a single mother of 2 children and work a full time job.

How is your weight loss going?? I really like how you decided that you couldn't really blame everyone for your weight-good on you!! Excepting responsibility is a good characteristic, and although it can be a long journey it is such a worthwhile one.
You have done so good so far emoticon emoticon .
Every pound or kilo lost is one closer to your goal emoticon

YOU CAN DO IT, BARB! I'm rooting for you! It has been so hard for me, too. I had gotten down to 266 and climbed all the way back to 296! Half my progress went down the toilet. But I'm back on track now, and I'm losing again. We can do this, honey. We just have to keep trying!
