I was 54 when I joined SparkPeople and 56 when I came back and started my Spark Program, starting with Stage One. This is a one day at a time program, but if you do the SparkPeople Program Steps, it really does work. I am terribly average, it's the SP program that is extraordinary.

I found logging my foods in the Nutrition Tracker helped me to lose 90 lbs in 16 months! I started at 210 and went to 120.

I hung clothing that was too small on my closet door and every time I would get discouraged I would try them on. Week by week they started fitting! That kept me motivated.

Welcome aboard, we really are all in the same boat! Sometimes we can sail right along but sometimes we have to be rowing like crazy!

You can make it happen! SparkPeople really does work!

Congrats on taking the first step to a healthy lifestyle!

How do you like The Spark so far? I think it's a great resource not only for reaching fitness and health goals, but other goals throughout your life. I think you have come to the right place; SP has provided the tools to develop healthy, lifelong habits. If you have any questions, let us know!

Hi and welcome! First of all, congrats on your previous loss, and for maintaining so well for so long. It's great that you're reading The Spark, and that you came to SP before the gain got completely away from you! So, kudos and have a ball here at SP! Read all you can, and jump into the community. We work hard, but have fun along the way. Mindful eating and fitness has to become a lifestyle, for sure.
