    I started July 28th. Tips? TRACK EVERYTHING and move often.

    I used to hate exercise, but my knees were so bad that I could hardly walk, so I decided to start the Y to build up my muscles enough to have surgery and a speedy recovery.

    I have been focusing on exercise and doing something every day. Today was 40 minutes on the elliptical trainer and 40 playing at racquetball. When I started, I had to force myself to do 5 minutes on the elliptical. Now I can easily do an hour, if I am reading.

    I used the stationary bike for quite a while, then took some classes. Now I am working, so am no longer taking exercise classes, but still work out most mornings for an hour.

    On Sundays, when the Y does not open until late, I sometimes take a walk with my daughter, sometimes take it as my rest day.

    I have a squat program on my tablet, so I do those at work. I sit on an exercise ball at home, and use it as often as possible, I also stretch a little further when cleaning or do squats and lunges while cleaning. In other words, move more. Even little increases help.

    The upside of the exercise? I rarely have knee pain now, even when doing 100+ squats daily! I never would have believed it!
