Bound & Determined Like Never Before

A single mom of 4 since 2000, I caught a glimpse of what I am capable of through regular cardio and hitting the weights. Post divorce I dropped nearly 50lbs of weights (besides that additional 200lbs that were left behind when the divorce finalized). Yes it took dedication, focus and work but paid off nicely.

Sadly some serious health issues hit 2 of my 4 children (Ulcerative Colitis & Leukemia). Needless to say my own health took a back seat for awhile.

Fast forward ...

Sadly some serious health issues hit 2 of my 4 children (Ulcerative Colitis & Leukemia). Needless to say my own health took a back seat for awhile.

Fast forward to now.. Sadly I lost my daughter in May 2011 to the beast named Leukemia after a vigorous 15 month battle. My son had undergone a colectomy less than a year later, a drastic but beneficial procedure. Stress, as a result of running back & forth to the hospital, juggling life as a single parent, maintaining finances, toxic dating relationship and riding an emotional roller coaster packed on 25lbs through comfort foods, lack of exercise and even one too many glasses of wine to bury the pain.

Those extra pounds look SOOO much uglier in the mirror - naked. Time for momma to get back on track for the health of it. No IF, ANDS, and definately no more big BUTTS!!!

At this point it is not just about being a fit 40 something year old but more importantly it is for the health of it! Being in my late 40s seems to make this challenge a bit more daunting but I am more determined than ever.

Thank you for adding me. Your story touched me. I'm sorry for your loss - I can't imagine anything more painful... Also, as someone who has lived with UC for fourteen years, I know its impact. Thankfully, I've been in remission for years now and never miss a dose of Asacol but, it was horrible for a time!

I wish you all the best in your journey and have no doubt that you will again accomplish your goals. Give it your all!
