Determined to be healthy

I have suffered many injuries and illnesses over the past 10 years. As a result of a lack of motivation and at times a lack of self-esteem, I gained over 100 pounds through the years. Two years ago, I lost 45 pounds by eliminating obvious unhealthy foods such as sodas and started exercising 10 minutes a day. Last year, I continued with my healthy living plan and lost an additional 45 pounds. Then I was thrown off course when I suffered a knee injury. I had surgery and then reinjured my knee a few times (didn't need surgery but prolonged the recovery period). I could've manipulated my food plan to allow for the lesser amount of exercise I was able to do. For some reason, I didn't do that. I gained 45 pounds.

For the past month, I've been working on my mindset and am in a place in my mind and heart where I truly want to get rid of excuses and live in the most healthy way possible. I want to journal my experiences-good and bad so that I can continue to move forward. I need to lose 50-pounds total (per my doctor).

Tonight I'm getting this all set up so that tomorrow I can dig in with blogging/journaling. I'll post a before picture tomorrow.

My Goals:
This week I want to work out at the gym Monday through Saturday mornings for 40 minutes each session. I'm limited to an upright stationary bike so my time will be spent doing that. I can use certain machines, kettle bells and dumb bells per my surgeon. On a few days this week I'll warm up on the bike and then do strength training. I don't know what I'm doing when I go to the gym but I think moving is the basic idea.

My Program:
In order to meet my gym goal, I am going to get every little detail ready the night before. I didn't do that before because I just didn't feel like it.

Now the tables have turned. I dislike being unhealthy and overweight more than I dislike spending 15 minutes the night before getting everything ready to go for the next day. The tradeoff is worth it. You can't tell me otherwise.

Personal Information:
I have lived in different states through the years and am currently living in the Boston area.

Other Information:
I love reading and playing classical guitar-neither of those activities involves movement. So I've started to also fall in love with exercise because even small 10 or 15 minute segments in the a.m. of any movement makes me feel happier and healthier.

Hi!
Welcome to the Partnership Accountability to the Finish Line team! We are happy to have you with our team. Please feel free to introduce yourself to the team, if you have not already done so. Be sure to read the thread: Click Here: To help find a partner and learn what to do next". It will help you find someone who has similar goals, likes, dislikes, or someone close to your age if you prefer. You will both be able to support, encourage, and just be there for each other, while on your way in reaching your goals.

If you need help finding someone or help of any kind, please let me know, as I am here to help you in anyway I can. Hope you enjoy and are able to achieve your goals on this team or any others you might join.

Have a great day!!
