My goal remains to weigh zero pounds.

To stand sideways and cast no shadow.

Also to grow in height. Several inches in fact.

Everything helps that nasty BMI number - both the numerator and the denominator!

My Goals:
My overall goal is to lose 45% of my starting weight of 281. This will take me down to 155, now that weighing zero seems a little unrealistic.

For 2014 the plan is simple: to lose 1.5 lbs per week. That will bring me to within a few pounds of goal by the end of 2014.

My Program:
1. Treating the Sparky Nutrition Tracker as an unrelenting drill sergeant (i..e, the Soup Nazi).

2. No "seconds", no desserts, and no exceptions. I have become an herbivore, mainly. No veggies or fruits are safe in our house.

3. I track sodium and cholesterol as well. Male and in my 50s, I harbor no illusion over the importance of this stuff too.

4. Gym during the school year, cardio (45 minutes) and strength (20 to 30 minutes), about 4 or 5 days a week. Brisk walks outdoors, as conditions allow, on weekends. Swim laps in the summer, as much as time allows (typically 50 to 100 miles per summer). Yes, I have scales, gills and a waterproof mp3 player.

5. Using the Sparky Activity Tracker and totally floating myself away on roughly 100 oz of water per day. Oh yes, peeing just all the damn time too.

6. Maintain humor throughout the process - absolutely essential!

7. Do this with my wife, Susan818127 also here on Spark. Check h

Oh yes - we do have mutton, and Yorkshire Pudding - and Black Pudding (a sort of blood-filled sausage, spicy, a firm favourite with breakfasts, especially for folk from 'oop Narth' (up North!)). Hmmmm - we also have Starbucks, Walmart (ASDA over here) and MacDonalds, thousands of pizza places, Thomas Kinkade jigsaws, Yankee Candle and heck, we've even got electricity! (which isn't bad, seeing as it was invented here!) We also have stupid government, rain, gas which is around $8.50 a gallon and, oh yes, 63million people crammed into an island the size of New England! BUT, groaning though it might be, we have a generally brilliant National Health Service which is free at the point of use for everyone, homeless to stinking rich, and Hey!….we even treat holiday-makers if they are ill after eating our mutton, Yorkshire Pudding, Black Pudding…..!

So, if we've got all that, why are you coming to our shores - or is it just idle curiosity????!!!!

Ha! In answer to your question: Probably because the Founding Fathers created a country where YOU nice people don't use GB pounds and UK based cellular technology!!! Anyway, what's the point of travelling on holiday to different parts of the world if you just use same old/same old stuff? Come on - live dangerously, Man! Grin!
