I'm ready for a New Year. I hope 2013 will be ready for a brand new me. I am coming back to Spark after taking a break for a couple months. I sure missed it but I am only going to focus on what's ahead of me, not my regret that I took a break. Hi my name is Jacqueline. I moved to California with my fiance a few years ago and because I am home alone with my 3 cats everyday-- I have found I have gained a lot of weight. I have been just ignoring/denying it-- hiding from mirrors and I had to pack away 90% of the clothes I brought with me cause they don't fit anymore. It's time for a change and I can't just keep feeling sad and lonely. I think this will be a great lifestyle change that will help me feel so healthy that I don't have time to feel sorry for myself or feel depressed and give me something to focus on everyday. And I just might get healthy enough to be able to have children in the near future :)

Fitness Minutes: 5,266

My Goals:
I would love to lose some weight! I would love to be trying on wedding dresses this time next year (hoping to be a size 14 or smaller) and feel fantastic. I'd love to be a role model for a healthy lifestyle for my fiance and our families. I hope to make my left knee strong again and I hope I can jog/run in the future.

My Program:
I use the fitness and nutrition trackers I am currently trying to stay close to 1200 calories a day and burn off a minimum of 337 calories a day although I have been burning close to a 1,000 calories most days (those are day I need to eat at least 1500 calories) I love the Spark People workout videos. I use them everyday alternating cardio with strength training. Once I start my workout I always end up working between 45-60 minutes but it's great to know that if I only have time for a 10 minute or 20 minute workout that I am still on the right track.
As of July 18 I am incorporating a 30 minute jog into my daily workouts

Personal Information:
I love animals. Cats, dogs, turtles, and so much more. I used to love watching birds through my bedroom window. I had a fruit tree in my front yard and birds of every size and color would flock and frolic around the tree. I remember spending most of my "grounded" time sitting in front of my window with my face pressed to the stinky screen (why are screens always stinky?) watching all the birds (my favorite ones were the little yellow ones) and making up stories and dramas about them. Recently, I have become obsessed with birds again especially hummingbirds. This is partly due to all the hummingbirds that have been coming in our yard to play around our passion flower vines. I'm a writer. I write a lot of things, essays and poems. I am working on 3 different novels simultaneously and it's taking me a very long time to finish them. I write blogs here on Spark but it's mostly for sharing little Sparks and inspirations with others or to document my experiences so I can look back


Other Information:
I love Audrey Hepburn and the French actresses Audrey Tautou and Marion Cotillard. I love Tom Hanks. I love books-- to many to list but on of my all time favorites is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. I love Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte I love Charles Dickens

    I am very fond of you too! We have a lot in common accident wise. Especially, the silly nature of how they come about. I thought my door one was hard to explain but it must be even harder to explain getting hit with a carving board on the knee and back. LOL It just snuck up and attacked me when I wasn't looking. My face still looks awful although my husband keeps telling me that it shows it is healing well. Good for you, for exercising with injuries that actually might be valid excuses for ditching. Sounds like you are doing well. emoticon emoticon

    Thanks for your comment on my blog. It helped me avoid the hamburger and fries at lunch and choose the quinoa salad instead - hurrah! I did lace up the new runners and did an hour walk. Now, if I can just get through the evening I will have one day under my belt! Hope you are doing well and listening to your own wisdom. emoticon
