Let me see...I started playing around on SparkPeople in the summer of 2010 when a friend mentioned it in passing as a solid food tracker. I'm a father of one and married to a beautiful Salvadoreņa. My Goals:
On November 11, 2011, my wife and I joined a gym, and that day I set my goal down to be 200 lbs by the time we left the country for our religious wedding on July 27, 2012. I hit my original goal on May 14, 2012. I want to continue losing and have set another goal of 185 to push for by the time we leave.
My Program:
In order to reach my first goal, and what I do in order to reach my secondary goal: I mix in cardio and lifting. On lift days, I follow my lifting with cardio, as much as I can squeeze in, at least 20 minutes of treadmill, stairclimber or even elliptical. My gym has child watch in the afternoons from 4-8 only MTWTh. So depending on the week I always go: Monday-legs (squat, lunge, cleans, leg extension, leg curl, calf and adductors) Tuesday-push up circuit, shrugs, upright rows, pullups, shoulder press Wednesday-Full on cardio. Typically a heavy interval day and finish with some stairclimbing Thursday-Many of the same lifts as Monday, but I trade squats for front squats, and I trade lunges with a bar to dumbbell lunges, much more difficult Friday/Saturday (depends on when my wife is home to watch him)-Much of the same from Tuesday, but the lifts I use dumbbells instead of bars.
