BOPPY_ is a SparkPeople Motivator!
I'm a 70 year old married male who lives in New Hampshire.
BTW, "Boppy" is what my Grandson started calling me when he was 2 years old. He's now 13. He dubbed, my wife, Beth, "Mimi", about the same time. He still calls us by these names, today. And, so we shall both be known by the family ...
Pet peeves: censorship and wading through religious blather (pardon the redundancy) to get to any topic!
I had reached a goal weight of 180, had a succession of surgeries (shoulder/arm, abdominal wall, back), started weight lifting again, raised my goal weight to 185. Then I had new problems with my other shoulder/arm, and back, and had to stop weight lifting and some other exercises. I've lowered my goal weight again to 180, and am adjusting to the new required caorie budget reduction -- especially sinve much exercise is off the table, again.
Stay at my goal weight for the rest of my life.
* Exercise every day (that I can)
* Eat high produce, high protein, low saturated fat, low processed grain diet.
* Track my food, weight, and exercise daily
* Plan my meals, exercise and program, as needed
I'm originally from Chicago, have lived much of my life in the West (CO, CA), went to college and graduate school in, respectively IA and OH, and now have lived the last 26 years in New Hampshire.
I'm a fan of nonfiction: history, including anthropological, science and technology, as well as mystery and spy novels.
My favorite nonfiction books are:
* The Man Who Only Loved Numbers.
* Goedel, Escher, Bach
* Surely, You Must be Joking Mr. Feynman
* What Do You Care What Other People Think?
* Electric Koolaid Acid Test
* The Right Stuff
* An Economic Interpretation of the Constitution
* Guns, Germs and Steel
* Roget's Thesauraus -- the organization is pure genius
On the fiction side, I've read everything that Robert B. Parker, and John Grisham have written, along with many books by Ludlum, Cornwell, Clancy, Silva, and DeMille.
My favorite fiction books are:
* Catch 22
* The Sotweed Factor
* Catcher in the Rye
and everything else that Salinger has written
My favorite movies, are:
* Coming to America (1988)
* Finding Forrester (2000)
* Arsenic and Old Lace

Fun Spring Holiday Workout
1 Dye about 100 eggs, raw preferably, bright and bold colors. Eggs outdated by a few months or more work best.
2 Go outside and bunny hop around the yard hiding the eggs. Squat to put each egg in place.
3 Gather a few good natured friends or family members you don't particularly care for.
4 On the count of 3, run to find the eggs.
5 Upon reaching an egg, squat down to pick it up, stand, and pitch it at the closest opponent. Alternate arms to insure an equal work out on both sides.
6 Repeat until all eggs are broken beyond re-throwing.
7 Don't forget that cleaning (up) can be a workout in and of itself.
And that is a wonderfully fit way to celebrate any spring holiday. Aren't you ready to hop to it?
