It has been far too long since I have been to the SPARK world! I know that when I am faithful to myself and goals I can achieve anything.

I have a half marathon creeping up on me June 1st in Niagara Falls and I am working hard to get in the miles but my nutrition has suffered. I have had cravings for sweets and salty things - my fruits and vegetable intake has taken a major dive.

So, today, 3/26/2014 I make a pledge to get back on TRACK - food and fitness and to report progress and setbacks faithfully.

4/3/2014 - 2.5 lbs lost just from following sensible eating. Now to maintain that loss and continue moving toward a healthy weight. I am still in the "overweight" category and I know that I can meet the goal.

4/10/2014 - maintained my loss from last week. Following my nutrition plan faithfully. I really need to be more consistent with my fitness goals. I want to be at my best (for that time) when I hit the ground at Niagara Falls for the Half Marathon. I will persist! I will succeed!

4/17/2014 - down 2 more pounds. Tracking nutrition even when I am a bit out of line - accountability - it is working. Still not getting the exercise I need and I realize that I will need to improve. Want to feel WONDERFUL when I cross the finish line at Niagara Falls!

4/25/2014 - just a day late in reporting - I weighed in yesterday morning and find that I maintained my 2 pound loss. Total is 4 at this time and that is good. If I can lose and maintain each time I am doing something right!

5/1/2014 - weigh in this morning showed a gain - I know this was due to stress eating and not the healthiest choices this past week - so, once again I remind myself that tracking is required for me to be accountable. I am ok with the situation because I know that it is not permanent. Tracking again beginning today! I also know that I must be more consistent with my fitness. Quit talking - make it happen!

5/9/2014 - scale is down 1 pound this week - glad that I didn't maintain that 2 pound gain from the week before. Got to move it!

6/28/30 - I know I get back here too little. But, I will be trying to check in more regularly! I completed the Colfax Marathon on May 17 in 6 hours and 12 minutes - that is an hour and 40 minutes better than my first marathon 10 years ago! I am now going to do more serious training for the Avenue of the Giants marathon next May 1st. Today was a cross training day and I did a 26-27 mile bike ride along the new I-36 bike path with friends! Pretty aggressive but, I did finish, and yes, I did have to walk some! It will get better!

    Hi...I also am a returnee. I joined up around 2004 and became overwhelmed with trying to manage diet and exercising and gave up till this January when I decided I didn't like the life I was living and wanted to make the changes necessary. I started by making a goal list of 50 things I would like to do in the next two and a half years. Losing 50 lbs. and becoming more active were top on my list. Since January I have lost 20 lbs. and I am preparing to run in my first 5K. I hope to draw inspiration from your example.

    Hi there! I just wanted to pop by your page and say hello. I don't know if you remember me, but we met a year or two ago when we were both doing the new you bootcamp. I saw that you're trying to get back on track, starting today. I had slipped quite a bit and today was my first day of getting back on track with my diet and exercise. Just wanted to show you some support and wish you lots of luck! I also wanted to invite you to the spring challenge team of losing 5% of your body weight. I recently joined but it hasn't started yet.
