    Thanks for your thoughts. I don't think I'm actually addicted to caffeine in the sense that I don't have it anywhere else in my day. I have reduced my coffee to one cup in the morning and it does not call my name at any other time. I stopped drinking diet Coke last fall. If I was determined to give up caffeine I would try again - to see if avoiding it was really what caused the fatigue. I didn't have any other symptoms, like headaches. emoticon
    Red wine on the other hand has been a real problem for me. I think it is best I avoid it altogether. Just because I was able to get right back on track being alcohol free, doesn't mean I'll be able to do that every time.

    I totally agree with you about not being controlled by any substance. I feel that way about carbohydrates/sugars for sure. I have never felt better since keeping carbs basically to vegetables and a few fruits.

    I know this is a process and I am open to learning and growing; so thank you for your comments!
