A huge thank you to Spark People and all my spark friends and team mates who have been a constant source of encouragement and support on my journey! I have come and gone a few times, and I slipped a bit from my path at times but this is a journey and I know that with consistency and motivation and by making healthy choices each day, I can be a healthier person! I am so grateful for Spark People and all the amazing people that are on this path with me to a healthier lifestyle!

Purple is the color that symbolizes pancreatic cancer and also happened to be one of my mother's favorite colors. I am coloring my page purple in honor of Mom...Mom passed away on April 12, 2013 after a long and courageous battle of more than 6 1/2 years with pancreatic cancer. I was so blessed to have had such a wonderful Mom. I miss her terribly but am so thankful that she is now free of pain and suffering and she leaves behind her wonderful legacy to her 3 children and 15 grand children. I will love you always Mom and I see your sweet spirit in the faces of your grand children and know that we all have a special angel named Lu in Heaven watching over us and guiding us.

As I struggle through the grieving process I will be writing about the experience in my blog. My hope is that this might help someone else who is going through the sadness and grief of losing a friend or loved one, or even the loss of life as they once knew it. Grieving can take many forms during our life here on earth.

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens. Ecclesiastes 3:1

Turn Turn Turn ( to Everything There Is a Season) was adapted from the book of Ecclesiastes (3:1) by Pete Seeger in 1959. In 1965 The Byrds recording went to #1 on the Billboard 100.

    Bonnie, now I can get there. Perhaps SP was "down" for awhile today.

    Bonnie, I'm SO excited! If you want to FB or text, let me know. Otherwise, we can just leave it at this format. I will definitely share recipes. In fact, on the Whole30 site, you can look at some of them on Susan's Food Log. I don't have the book [well, actually I ordered it last week and haven't received it yet] and I did fine with looking over the rules and information on the website. {{{huge hugs}}} and thanks for the goodie and I look so forward to our month together!

    Bonnie, I've vacillated on whether to keep going or take a few days off and then start again. After much thought, I've decided to just keep going. So I'm starting round 2 day 1 on Thursday. I have a doctor's appointment in November and if I keep doing this for 2 more rounds then I'll have 3 months of clean eating for my next A1C [had a pre-diabetic range on my physical]. Let me know if that works for you. It would be so fun to encourage each other. {{{huge hugs}}}}
