Back to try again. This has not been a good year so far, but am hoping for improvement. Lost two close family members and had arthroscopic knee surgery to repair a tear all within a couple of months earlier this year and am still finding it hard to face day to day issues. Have been out of work due to surgery for several months and prognosis is not good. It makes it very difficult to burn calories when you can't put pressure on your knees. I did buy an incumbent bike and have begun using it on a regular basis as well as the exercises assigned by my PT. Also started drinking smoothies made with lots of good veggies and fruits, so should start showing some progress soon.
I lost over 50 pounds five years ago with Sparkpeople, was told by my doctor that I lost too much (I did look waaaaay to thin), tried to gain back only 10 pounds, but ended up gaining back 60. I haven't stayed active here, and that is definitely a problem. As long as I was posting almost daily and recording my food and exercise, I was able to maintain my weight where I wanted it. Since I have discovered that it is a necessity to write down what I eat every day as well as my exercises, I will attempt to do so daily.
I joined SP to get back to a healthier life style since I plan to be around for a long time (the women in my family tend to hang around until their ninties, so I want to be able to "hang" when I get there!)
I have been married to the love of my life for over 25 years and we have a yours, mine, and ours kind of family (he had two girls, I had two boys, and we had two boys together!) We also have five grandsons, four granddaughters, and one great-grandson.
My two older sisters are also part of SP (MKPQ51 & GrinnyLynny) and, although we are spread out across the US, we are in this together.
To get back on track and lose 46 pounds.
Goal weight: 150
Maintenance range: 145-150
1. Throw away 45 pounds.
2. Post nutritional information daily.
3. Post exercise/cardio as completed.
4. Try to post daily to teams.

Hi Bonnie, I'm happy to see you come back. I know you can do this. What we have to remember is eating healthy (most of the time) and exercising has to be a part of our lives. Our exercise doesn't have to be a treadmill, stationary bike, or a DVD. It can be mowing the yard, taking a walk in the park, playing some outdoor games or a really good house cleaning. In other words, just stay active in whatever you do. (I'm talking to myself too. I have had a few weeks of struggle lately). Wishing you a great day and I'll stay in touch.

Hey, babysis, so glad to see you back on SP again; after all, you were the one who got me involved! Getting those muscles back in shape is murder; isn’t it?!?!?!?! Consider joining a challenge team. I signed up for the 28-day boot camp workout challenge; I’m into my third week now and plan on repeating it again. My only suggestion is to start on a Sunday! I also belong to the QuickFire Challenge team; this has become one of my favorite teams. The QFC team has a daily exercise that is performed throughout the day; and, the exercises can be done in the bathroom, at work, at your desk, etc. Check out the teams and let me know what you think.
Hey, don’t give not calling on my birthday a second thought; after all, I didn’t call your hubby either. But, I was thinking about him and you throughout the day!
More than you’ll ever know, I miss our times together too! I’d hoped that that hubby’s job opportunity in Dallas was going to put us closer; but, it just didn’t work out.
As for sewing, I’ve only had my machine out on rare occasions and that was only to repair something. I have been learning how to knit; though Mom taught me how to knit and purl when I was in my teens, I hadn’t done any knitting since then. I must admit, I had to do quite a lot of pulling out in the beginning because I’d find a mistake and didn’t know how to correct it; I’ve gotten a bit better and can now do some corrections without having to rip out and/or start over. I’ve been making some dishcloths to practice before attempting other projects.
Hope your day at work went well; give me a call if you get a chance. Sunday and Monday are kinda busy; but, the rest of the week is pretty good for me.

Good morning Bonnie, I haven't checked on you in a while so I thought I would stop by. I see you have two sisters on SP too. Isn't this a great way to stay in touch? And, you can get healthy together. Wishing you a great day and week !!!!
