I have Fibro. It doesn't have ME!

I've decided to be Festive at Fifty! Rather than being on a diet, I will be on a journey to become a sex kitten! It's a much more fun objective and just think of the rewards for my hub and myself when and AS I get there!

Having recently turned 50, I realize I have been fighting my fibromyalgia for over 15 years. I've had a couple of other body-blows including some time in a wheelchair for eight months due to an accident as well as knee surgery last year. I want to focus on me ...

Having recently turned 50, I realize I have been fighting my fibromyalgia for over 15 years. I've had a couple of other body-blows including some time in a wheelchair for eight months due to an accident as well as knee surgery last year. I want to focus on me for a change. Focus on feeling better and staying healthier for longer periods of time. I want to feel good again and feel like I am not trapped by my body any longer. I need and want to be stronger.

Got caught in a bad fibro flair in January, but took charge, saw my doc and used some meds to help me move forward and up out of the crevasse! Since then, I feel like I'm moving forward towards my goal with the help of all the folks on this group and support from my family and friends. All of you really help me through the lows and curves along the way! Or, as I try to lose some of those curves along the way! Ha!

I prefer lo-carbing, but want to do it in a safe and healthy manner. I don't like "preparing meals." My husband, a wonderful and supportive person, gets bored with the same stuff often, so then we break down and get easier to fix foods that aren't always good for us.

I'm still frustrated that my body won't let me live life like I'd like to, but I am committed to putting myself first for a change. I CAN do this and so can you!

Beautiful Inspirations:
~~ Chinese Ballet ~~ Intro is in French. Make sure your sound is turned on. Glorious choreography and extraordinary skill. Evidently took 8 years to create this 7 minute routine. So, we've got a ways to go to create our magic too!

~~ Paul Potts ~~ In Britain's Got Talent. Make sure your sound is on. Singing Nessum Dorma. This was his first performance on stage in front of the judges. You'll recognize the song. But talk about setting a goal and reaching a dream! Everytime I hear this, I weep. We can reach our dreams too. We've set our goals. We just have to keep moving forward.

Hi, I am Cherie and I am on the Fibro Friends team at Spark People. I wanted to tell you that we now have 4 co-leaders on our team and we have made many changes to help our members. We added a Reading Room thread on the team page that has a lot of really good information about Fibromyalgia and ways to help ourselves deal with the pain and problems.

I would like to invite you to come back to the team and let us support you in your journey to healthy weight loss as we support each other. A lot of time has gone by and I hope you will come back to Spark People and join us on our journey.

Gentle and soft Hugs, Cherie emoticon

I was checking back to see how you are doing and I sure hope you didn't quit.
I see that good loss and I know you can do this.

I'm reading "SHRINK YOURSELF" by ROGER GOULD, M.D. on how to stop emotional eating. It is well worth reading, as he says it is why 95% of people fail at keeping weight off. emoticon

Hi there and thanks for your comment on my blog. And this is the good thing about spark because it always helps me to realize that I don't have it so bad. It might take me three weeks to recover from this, but then I'll be pain and misery free. And there are so many people who won't be. I really am a lucky one. thanks for your kindness. q
