I am a 29 year old Emergency Manager and avid animal lover. I am owned by five horses, two goats, three cats, and two dogs. They keep me active and alive. I am also madly in love with my wonderful husband who somehow understands and tolerates my OCD tendencies and general moments of insanity. I am a 29 year old Emergency Manager and avid animal lover. I am owned by five horses, two goats, three cats, and two dogs. They keep me active and alive. I am also madly in love with my wonderful husband who somehow understands and tolerates my OCD tendencies and general moments of insanity. My husband and I both ride horses and train with our dogs in agility. We are also very active outdoors. However, we both struggle with our weight. I'm working on getting us both healthy again and relying less on our "comfort foods." The main focus right now is for us to get healthy and fit. I'm not looking to run a marathon, but more energy would be a blessing. We lead very busy lives and really can't afford a gym membership, so that leaves us with finding ways to work out at home. It will be a challenge, but we're going to give it a shot.

My Goals:
My long term goal is to lose 38 lbs in the next 12 months.
My short term goal is to run 1.5 miles in 16 minutes by March 1.

My Program:
For my diet, I'm focusing on eating fresh, homemade meals. Our vegetables are organically grown by a local farmer and I'm working on making my own soups and sauces to avoid a lot of the sodium in canned foods.
My workout plan is to run with my dog three times a week down my road and back. It's about 1 mile one way. I cannot run the whole thing yet, but we're pushing to go a little further each time until we are running both out and back. The rest of the week, I'm working with my exercise ball and free weights.

Welcome to Getting Fit Before Baby! We're so glad to have you!! I see that you're a runner...have you checked out my other team, the Beginning Runner's Club? We could always use more help! LOL. SO glad that you're working toward your goals!! Good luck with the soups! Have you found a good minestrone recipe (assuming you like minestrone)? (I have an awesome one, if you're interested!)
