My name is Michele. I have two children, ages10 and 8. My average weight used to be 145-150. In the past three years it has skyrocketed. I started SP in June '07 and dropped 10 lbs. that first month. Feeling confident in what I had learned that month, I started using SP less and less. I did lose three more pounds but by the end of the year, I had gained it all back. I am back to where I started. Then we went on a dream vacation to Italy in '08 and I tried to lose some before we left, but ...

Feeling confident in what I had learned that month, I started using SP less and less. I did lose three more pounds but by the end of the year, I had gained it all back. I am back to where I started. Then we went on a dream vacation to Italy in '08 and I tried to lose some before we left, but never really did. In the year that followed after the trip, I piled on 15 lbs. I couldn't figured it out. Nothing in my lifestyle had changed with regards to food or exercise. I finally went to the doctor who diagnosed me with hypothyroidism. After starting meds I dropped 10 lbs very quickly, but I am still way too heavy for my frame. :(

So now a friend and I are trying to lose 3 pounds a week in time for an event at the end of July. I don't know if I can do it but I sure am trying.

We haven't explored Huntsville much...we commute there to the DC because of the farm...two hr drive. All the family stays down there. We go two days to the one we are assigned...F and Sun...and then Sat of the other English in Huntsville. That way all the animals are cared for at home. We can't quite manage three consecutive days of commuting AND sitting all day.

If you ever head up this way to visit, would live to try to meet you!

Nice to be reciprocal friends. Looks like we have our weight-loss efforts in common...we are at about the same spot. I have been trying to make headway for some time...gained weight after joining SP and finally have it all back off...BUT..I battle for every ounce lost and then to keep it gone!

Hope things go well for you! Summer time makes it much easier to be active and that,for me, seems to be the key.

Welcome to SP. and the JWs On the Narrow Path Team. It's a great site! Be sure and sign up for Spark America and when you set up your exercises, just remove any you can't do or don't want and put in those you do. Be sure and schedule a day for cardio so you have access to the "other exercises" page where the walking, housework, playing with children etc. are to be found. When you are done, set up your Appointment calendar to send you reminders and when they come, click on the link then fitness and just check them off as you do them. Such a great feature. Use your spark points page to help you use and learn all the fantastic tools we have at this site. Visit others pages and get to know them better. Again, welcome to a great site.
