Old Dog - Still Learning New Tricks

Long time fitness buff. While never being truly overweight, I have a hard time keeping my body fat percentage under control. I continue to strength train a few times a week. I've added swimming and bike riding into my fitness plan recently. Trying to do twice a week on each.

I started running at age 64, now 3 years later I've logged a few miles, including 6 marathons.

I completed my first Sprint Triathlon at age 66. My goal now is to complete an Olympic Triathlon, ...

Personal Information:
Married to my childhood sweetheart.
Retired, living in Maitland, FL

Long time fitness buff, about 35 years of continuous ST. I call myself "A short ectomorph" as an excuse for not having gained muscle mass over the years. :) Lousy body building genetics, (native american genes) but fair amount of desire to be the best I can be.

emoticon The Motivator of the Day.

emoticon Luck of the Irish to you this year!! emoticon Enjoy the Green Beer. emoticon And here is that pot of gold. emoticon

Check out the web site of Stephen Jepson www.NeverLeaveThePlayground(dot)com
He's 74 and teaches how to stay agile so we don't lose our balance and we can build brain cells to stay alert. (Yes, science says we can do that.) His web site Never Leave the Playground is all about fun exercise. He has clips on YouTube.

Another interesting guy is IzzyBarish on his YouTube channel. He has worked out since '79 in his fantastic basement gym that he built up over the years. He's 65. He loves doing Indian Club workouts for flexibility.

I do agree that the parents have to model healthy behaviors. I am grateful that my son learned. Trying still with my DD (she's 19) Hopefully she'll come 'round.

I've heard the IM FL 70.3 is a great race. I'm doing IM Chattanooga 70.3 in May after a sprint in Apr and an oly early May. Then it's two more oly before another full in Sept. And that's it for this year! Well, until winter half marathon season starts, LOL.
