....and pounds to go before I sleep

I'm a 60+ software developer working freelance out of my house. Two kids still living at home. Three toddler/newborn grandchildren living nearby.

I've been overweight since I was a teen, grossly overweight for 20+ years. I was down to my correct weight once, about 35 years ago, for a few months.

I've been on Spark for six months, and started being serious about it for two months. I got even more serious in August 2008, ...

I've been on Spark for six months, and started being serious about it for two months. I got even more serious in August 2008, after breaking an ankle for the second time. I'm convinced that my weight and inability to fall nicely caused both ankle breaks.

However, side effects form the ankle injury prevented me exercising, followed by lack of motivation and its now 2012 and I'm starting again

Welcome to the Chi Running and Walking team. I hope you find this focused running style helps you to get back into a safe and sensible exercise program.

We have some similarities. I was a bit heavy in 2008 when I started this journey, I have am pushing 60 and have one child and one grand child living in our home (I know that is closer than near by). I became a runner, then a chi running, then a certified Chi Running instructor, and a Tai Chi Chuan and bagua player.

Today I did a 5km with Gramie (first for her) followed by a 10km with my oldest grandson. We then had a house full for a Post Race BBQ.

I hope the the Chi Running and Walking form(s) can help you find a safe, efficient way to bring natural and balanced movement into your life and help you in you goals towards a healthy life style.

Good running and be careful out there.
Popie

PS I noticed you do Tai Chi. We also have a Tai Chi team here at spark. If you look at my page it is one of my teams.
