I've made over my eating habits. I've maintained a regular workout schedule. Now I just have to keep doing it! I finally feel a sense of equanimity.
I'm currently avoiding starches, dairy, gluten, corn, sugar, yeast, and highly-processed foods. I mainly eat healthy proteins, including nuts and some legumes, low-sugar vegetables, and 1-2 servings of low-sugar fruits a day. I am not using any sugar substitutes like Stevia either.
I workout a minimum of two times a week. I would like to fit more gym time in, but my schedule is a bit too hectic right now.
It's all about maintaining balance!

I have the same problem! I know what to do it's just getting myself to do it and keep up with it that's the hard part. I have no will power! I've been trying to track everything I eat and eat healthy. I do great at work but when I get home I don't feel like cooking so my husband suggests fast food...which is fine for him because he's 6'4 and skinny...and he stays that way. I have set a goal for myself to do Zumba every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and Yoga for weight loss every Tuesday and Thursday. This new plan goes into effect on Monday. I have been unhappy with my weight for about 5 years and more so in the last 3. I lost 25 lbs before my wedding and have gained it all back within the 7 months since. All I want to do is be able to go shopping without it being a struggle to find something that hides the innertube around my waist! But most importantly I want to feel comfortable with myself again.

In OH we finally got some snow! My husband and I just got back from Mexico on Sunday! Even though I love the snow I'd rather be back on the beach! How are you? How's the whole "focusing on the achievements" thing going? I hope you're having a rockin weekend! -T

Hi there! SO sorry it took forever to respond to your comment! Ive been so busy with holiday stuff n'such- well, not now anyways!
Stepping on the scale really helps me stay accountable-especially closer to that time of the week! It helps influence my food choices and exercise. Also I have incentives set up for losing so many pounds-i think thier in intervals of 7lbs to each is realistically attainable. I try to focus on what I will do when I lose the weight that i can't do now or can't do well and I also think of how much longer I'll be able to live!!!!! It is difficult to stay motivated-trust me. Sometimes i binge, sometimes I don't work out but I have a husband that keeps me motivated too and he runs/eats healthy/encourages me. In the end you just have to find that reason within yourself to stay motivated and do it!
I was never really motivated by appearance, really. I've always been ok with how I looked-BUT I reaized I wasn't happy with my mobility and energy levels...I felt horrible! I wanted to be able to rock climb, bungee jump, snowboard, and hike at my best! Also, we are backpacking through India and I need to be healthy for it
In conclusion-wow, i hope this gives you some ideas to stay motivated. I noticed you snowboard and I do too! I haven't been in awhile but we are planning on getting passes this year..and we both have boards :) Best of luck love!!! Message/comment if you need anything!

I'm glad you liked the blog! That little problemo has held me back from being healthy for too long and it's been nice to see a new perspective, I'm glad you could get something from it. Keep in touch and we can hopefully share more about our journey to our healthier selves, both inside and out! :) Best of luck and happy 2012!!
