Fitter or Fatter - it's my choice. At my age-there is no staying the same! It's one or the other.

I am a two time breast cancer survivor. Finally quit my high stress (though high paying) job in yellow pages last June (2005), in order to pursue my passion as a professional speaker. I am also a published author. Getting back in shape, I feel, will help me get more jobs as a professional speaker. I will gain even more confidence and look a lot better in press photos. My Goals:
My goals are to be a professional speaker and sell enough of my books to enter into my second printing. My concern is that as a result of chemotherapy, I entered early menopause and I'm heavier than ever. This could impact my ability to obtain speaking engagements or hurt my credibility as a speaker.

My Program:
I have a web-site (www.beckyolson.com) that I use to obtain speaking engagements and sell my book, "The Hat That Saved My Life." I get several speaking engagements a year, but would like to at least double my opportunities.

Personal Information:
I am also a two time breast cancer survivor and I co-founded an organization called Breast Friends (see www.breastfriends.com). We help women who are newly diagnosed with breast cancer by teaching their friends and family how to help.

Other Information:
I am a Christian and love the Lord. I have been married for 26 years, have 5 children and 3 grandchildren.

You appear to have a really great attitude about life! And congrats on being a survivor. I'm also a cancer survior (but only one time :)). I had osteosarcoma when I was 24.

Well done on following your passion. This was of course one of the topics for discussion and reflection a little while ago. What topics do you speak on?
What have you written?
I too like professional speaking - not trained to do this and would love the opportunity to be trained in life coaching for teenagers!!
Well done too on the weight loss. Although you say that it may increase your speaking appointments - i believe that it is what you say and not how you look that will bring people flocking. Adrian Gilpin is one of the biggest men i have ever had the pleasure of meeting and when he opens his mouth one forgets his appearance as his personality and the power of what he has to say consumes one's attention. You don't look large and i'm sure that what you have to say is powerful too.
