Inspiration for change
I am going to leave the first introduction that I posted on here which seems like so long ago.. I am now healthy, active and have lost 50 lbs and 10 sizes since my all time high time weight ...in Nov. 2010. I was wearing a size 24 clothes when my husband passed. I remember not having anything that fit, that I could wear to his funeral... I was beaten down from 11.5 years of being my husbands sole caregiver and from raising 3 grandchildren at the same time... I will fast ...
I will fast forward to today..those grandchildren were my salvation when my husband passed..they kept me moving forward...Today I am active, I joined the gym and now workout 3-4 times a week. I went to a singles dance a year ago and found out that I liked to dance..I am not the best at it, but I still do it..I am now taking dance lessons. I refuse to waste a day that God has given me. I am experiencing so many first in my life..I found out at my old age that I have a fairly decent singing voice..so I am singing karaoke..I met a couple of widow ladies that have become my best friends..we go on trips together..we laugh together...we just enjoy life.. I am sure my late husband is smiling down on me from heaven saying..." YOU GO GIRL" I am still trying to find the magic thing that is going to get this weight under control. I have tried so many diets and they all worked for a while. Then I would stop the diet and put the weight back on plus more. I am afraid I have excepted the fact that I am always going to be heavy. Even though I was small until .my late 30's. I am 58. I am married and have been the caregiver to my husband for the last 9 years. He has had 2 major strokes , a couple of heart attacks and bypass surgery last November. He is dependant on me for most everything. We have raised one grandson, who is now 23 . Three years ago we welcomed his 4 year old brother into our home and this past summer our 15 year old granddaughter came to live with us too. Sometimes life is very stressful and that is not good for the waist line. I hope I can get back on track. I sure don't want to end up like my husband. I need to stay healthy for myself and for the ones who depend on me.
