Before starting the Paleo diet, I was absolutely depressed. I was not to the point I wanted to kill myself, but everyday was a struggle all day long. If anything required effort, I did not do it. Then my husband decided to buy a fitness magazine and we read together an article about popular diets and the people with results. The Paleo Diet stuck out to us like no other diet. It somehow struck as as something we HAD to do. We both read what little there was in the article and decided to purchase a meal plan and 2 recipe books pdf form.
So far the transition has been amazing. My skin, hair, nails, body, mind and spirit are dramatically improved. I will try to blog about my transformation when I can. Feel free to message me if you have an questions. This is currently new to me, so I am still learning.
My name is Ivy and I am a mother of one. Samantha, my daughter, is one of the main reasons I am trying to get into a healthy weight range. I started my weight loss journey before getting pregnant, but it is even more important now as I want my daughter to have a mother who can teach her to be healthy and happy with her body while growing up unlike I had. As she already has so much energy, I don't want to stop her from doing any activity due to my weight holding both of us back. I've had enough of that!
I'm a friendly and honest person who is sensitive and empathetic. My life has been hard, but I try not to let that determine my behavior in a negative way. Although, I do have bad days just like everyone else.
My daughter has taught me that even though I come from a family of overweight individuals, it will not pass onto my daughter. She healthy, active and underweight for her age. My daughter eats till she is satisfied and tends to eat several small meals throughout the day. For me, I always thought my child would struggle as I have, but I am so grateful that it isn't a struggle for us. I will do everything I can to help Samantha have a positive body image, to believe she can achieve anything, and to look beyond what is on the outside. In order to help her, I have to start with myself.
If you are struggling with idea of how to lose a significant amount of weight, you can do it. Set small goals if a large goal is too much now. Find healthy and delicious recipes that will be better for you than some blah food. Good places to find recipes are Food Network (Ellie Krieger), Eating Well Magazine (www.eatingwell.com) , low fat cook and recipes from spark.
You don't need to join a gym to get exercise, although it can be rewarding and you can get praise from strangers. When I exercise at home, I use my Wii, 5 Mile Fat Burner by Leslie Sansome and dancing to the music. Now I am thinking of adding Chalean Extreme to my collection.
To eat healthy unprocessed food and to have fun with my daughters.

I've got Chalean Extreme and I think it's a good investment but my advice is don't push yourself to go too heavy too soon with the weights, I've hurt my shoulder/neck etc just by going up a kg before I was ready!! Otherwise go for it, my body felt firmer after every workout, was hard to stop myself eating everything in sight though as the extra muscle made me hungry!!
