SIMPLIFY SIMPLIFY SIMPLIFY

I have tried many times to lose the weight, but realize that the BEST strategy for me right now is to SIMPLIFY my whole entire food and fitness plan, as well as my whole life around me! Being past 50 gives one the courage and knowledge to filter out the complicated, unnecessary, and toxic stuff in one's life, and that is exactly what I am doing! I am no longer on a self-loathing track in my life just because I carry more pounds than I should. I have the power to SIMPLY lose the weight!

An empty-nester, I am married to a wonderful man, and together we have grown children, precious grandchildren, granddogs, grandcats, and grandchickens to love and enjoy!

In June 2007, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer, underwent chemo, radiation, and Herceptin, and have been cancer free since! YAY! Right before my breast cancer diagnosis, I lost 44 pounds and was feeling the best I've ever felt in my life. My breast cancer was diagnosed by digital mammography and was way too small for me to detect otherwise. I pretty much sailed through chemo, but I gained weight and have not lost it because I have not given it my best shot! It is time to "grow up" and "eat like an adult" and get this weight off once and for all!!! I have to keep trying, and GET BACK TO ME!!!!!!!

PLEASE REMEMBER: THE BEST PROTECTION IS EARLY DETECTION!!!

My Goals:
to lose 34 pounds and keep it off

to be more active each day

to stop putting junk into my body

to eat for health and to live, not live to eat!

My Program:
1200-1300 calories a day, 3 meals a day and no snacks in between, as recommended by my oncologist (thanks to him I found the No S Diet!)

walk at least 10 minutes a day

make my weight loss a fun process and enjoy the journey!

Personal Information:
I am a Southern gal, born and raised in North Carolina, married to a former Washington State logger. I work in an office at a school bus garage, and sit at a computer all day-- a killer for the body!

Other Information:
I love: to be in the woods, camping, fishing, bowhunting, shooting my compound bow, shotgun, rifle, and handgun. I share all the outdoors things that I love with my precious husband. I also do "woman things" like quilting and reading good clean fiction books. And I love playing with my grandbabies!

HI! Saw your post about loving No S. The team has a thread called What I love about No S. Please feel free to cut and paste to it and keep coming back to crow over new discoveries-or even old ones- of all the advantages of No S. As your post showed, weight loss is the minor consideration. Peace and joy are the real payoffs. How did we live without it? emoticon

Thanks for stopping by my page, and for sharing what you've gone through with your cousin, always hard when it's somebody you're close to......but helps to have the support that I find so frequently here!!

Thanks again-
Suzanne

Hey, thanks for making me aware of that whole No-S way of thinking, I had never heard of it before, but am excited to try it!! Seems to make a lot of sense, and I need something to kick start me, as I have been pretty nonchalant about the whole weight loss issue......good days and bad days, but the bad days seem to be happening more frequently even with my dedication to working out.....

Who knows, maybe we can chat on "that" team too?

Suzanne
