Hi my name is Sandy and I have been struggling for years with my weight. I read somewhere a quote, I don't remember who said it, but its said Obesity is a disease of choice. Not sure how to take it, but if I wanted to get real with myself, I would have to agree, I am the only one putting that food in my mouth or not exercising. Its time to do this.

My Goals:
Would like to start with small goals, I know I have to lose 100 pound, but I am going to shoot to be 200 pounds. that is about 44 less than what I am now. Have to get my cholesterol down and my blood pressure is abit elevated, need to get that in control before it gets out of hand. Would like to ride cross country on my bike. Want to see my grandkids grow up. So many things.

My Program:
Well I am going to retire from my job of 21 years, starting a new career. Doing this I won't have to work 3rd shift anymore, so I will be getting enough sleep. I will have time to plan meals, also get into a routine with walking my dog. Also hitting the gym at least 3 times a week for now.

Personal Information:
I am from Connecticut. If you would like to write to me, my email address is

Other Information:
My favorite book is Clan of the Cave bear.
Favorite movie is white squall.
As for my picture I love to ride, when I am down, I take off on my bike and by the 2nd tank of gas I have things in perspective.
Something else I believe in, is when your down and feel alone, remember that there is somebody worse off than you. So pick yourself up by your bootstraps and just go outside and get some fresh air.
