This was one year ago, 5/23/2010. I don't think I've let anyone take a photo of me since then.

My inspiration photo, Aug 2005. I weighed about 143 lbs.

Tired of Being Overweight

May 22nd was my first wedding anniversary, and I was shocked to realize that I was probably the heaviest I've ever been. I was a fairly active child and teenager, but my weight has crept up over the years, with a pretty big jump in the past year alone. In the short term, I turn 30 in July, and I'd like to lose 15 lbs by then. My husband and I want to have a baby soon, and I need to be healthier before getting pregnant. Long term, I probably have about 50 lbs to lose.

My Goals:
Short Term (by July 29th):
-Lose 15 lbs
-Do 45 mins of cardio at least 3 times per week

Long Term:
-Lose 50 lbs
-Travel by bike whenever possible

My Program:
Tracking everything I eat is my first step, along with making some much needed progress at the gym. I sort of hate the gym, so I'm getting a new bike, and hoping I can replace my cardio gym workouts with biking.

Hey there,

Saw your comment on Jen's cruise blog post and thought I'd mention that I'd love to have active excursions IN ADDITION to vigorous exercise like spinning.

It's just too hard to get my heart going enough while doing recreational activities like kayaking or bicycling. They are low-key fun things I definitely like to do, but in a social context wouldn't provide enough of a calorie burn on their own to maintain my preferred level of fitness.

Hi!!!!!! Thank you for your comment on my blog, sorry I didn't notice it til few minutes ago, that's why I haven't replied earlier.... Did you know that under "weigh in and other measurment" there's a space reserved for tracking sleep quality, stress levels etc etc... It totally made my day when I found out about it!
Anyway, thanks again for your comment!!!!

I think the hardest part is actually getting something started!! Joining SP has helped a lot on keeping me motivated and tracking everything. Once I start I really dont want to stop, but once I stop I have a hard time starting it again. Since I started I have not taken one day. Even if it is 20 mins I have to do something. We are going camping in a few weeks and that will really test me when I get back. I am hoping since I am aware of my issue it wont be an issue.
I know you can meet your first goal of 15lbs. I hope you will find a workout or a challenge that you will love and the more you do the better you feel and the more you will want to do. Eating right also helps a lot!! The more veggies and fruit the better you feel.
Have a wonderful weekend!! And thank you for the add!!
