Living in the twin cities, MN.....one of the healthiest places in the US! I love it here; the culture, the people, and the food....lots of new experiences!

I'm trying to be serious about changing my life, so I'm giving blogging a try. Feel free to follow along and leave comments.

A little bit about my personality:

~ I love meeting new people

~ While I don't like conflict, if I really think you're wrong, I'll tell you.

~ I am really proud that I've stuck with Art History through undergrad, and now graduate school. It's not a useless major; I know I am a more sophisticated, well-versed, more intelligent individual for it. Don't tell me there's no good use for Art History.

~ Change is a REALLY good thing. Whether good or bad at the time, I've grown so much over the past decade that I can't help think it's all good.

~ I'm a really good cook ;-)

~ I discover something completely new about myself at least once every couple months. A few months ago, I discovered that I don't like lettuce. Who knew?

And as for weight loss.....

~ Yes, a big part of why I'm losing so much weight is because I want to wear a bikini next summer. So what if I'm looking at cultural expectations? I know that I will be skinny enough at about 170 lbs.....no 125lbs. for me!

~ I've already lost 50 lbs. on Weight Watchers, so I know I can do it. Pushing forward!

~ I'm working on eating less processed foods....I've started my own little container garden that I'm super proud of :-)

It's so refreshing to have a clear picture of what you want in life; for now AND for later. The best part of the journey is getting there, and that's what I'm doing!!

Fitness Minutes: 3,409

My Goals:
Body for Life: 12 weeks

4 weeks: 5 lb loss

8 weeks: 10 lb loss

12 weeks: 15 lb loss


My Program:
~ I always have a water bottle with me, and I keep several stocked and ready to go in the fridge

~ I set a timer on my phone so that I eat every 2.5 - 3 hours. I keep baby carrots and string cheese ready to have as quick snacks

~ I am eating less processed food, and more fresh veggies

~ I have one cheat day a week, when I allow myself to eat all the chocolate and pasta I want :-) It keeps me sane

~ 8/01: I'm currently following the Body for Life workout program, weight lifting and cardio interchangeably throughout the week.



Personal Information:
I've been dating the sweetest guy for almost 7 years now. He moved with me to Minnesota when I was accepted to graduate school, and supports all my exercising and healthy eating habits.

I'm a current Art History Master's student. I love all periods and movements of art, and I am having a hard time picking one artist or work to research for a Master's thesis



Other Information:
~ I have two pets: a cute little Kitty named "Fry" and a tortoise named "Helmet"

~ I keep a container garden on the balcony of my apartment

~ I love crocheting!

~ I'm a really good cook and baker :-) Knowing how to make your own food will give you a huge advantage on your weight loss journey
