Hello!

I've been on SparkPeople before but I've been one of those people who was in the weight-loss game...but not really IN it. Well not any more because I'M BACK!!

I've struggled with my weight my whole life. Up and down....up and down. But over the last 10-15 years, it's gotten out of control and while I keep vowing to "make changes", I'll start a plan and stay with it until I've lost 20-30 lbs. By that time, I've lost enough to feel (and see!) a difference and then I start falling back into old habits. Of course, then I gain the weight back and then some...

So here I am. I'm back!! I'm focused on getting healthy...not on losing weight. As I get healthier, the weight will start to melt away. For once, it's not the other way around! I'm actually following Weight Watchers and it's changed my life. For the first time EVER, I feel as though I have a plan and have a way to keep myself at goal once I get there. The plan rocks!! It's the mental games I play with myself that are the challenge. I WILL get to goal and I WILL conquer these brain games! It's a new me and I no longer belong in this body. Time to get rid of it. =)

My Goals:
* My trainer and I are working toward a 1.5 lb/wk loss. Over the next year, I plan to have lost 72-78 lbs! I can't even tell you the last time I was near that weight so I'm excited!

* I also want to raise my HDL because it's lower than it should be.


My Program:
* I just joined a gym & my goal is to get at least 150 min of cardio & strength training in each week!

* I'm also working to find balance in my eating. I'm (sort of) following the SP meal plan but I'm focusing on making better choices.

Bad Habits:
Making excuses not to exercise. Large portion sizes. Taking care of everyone else but myself.


Other Information:
I've struggled with weight my whole life. Although, I look back at pictures of myself in high school (when I thought I was huge) and I would kill to be back at that weight now! I was "only" about 20 lbs overweight then... Now I have MUCH more than that to lose! But so far, I am loving SparkPeople!!!

In my "spare" time, I'm a jewelry artist and make beaded jewelry.
