One of my favorite photos with my husband, 100th anniversary of the Titanic

Before. Happily together with my boy for 12 years.

Renaissance Faire, Before. When I think of my "after" photos, I want to recreate this shot.

I have 10 pics in my gallery

Time for Some Thrillin' Heroics

Tenth's times a charm, right? Am I exaggerating on how many time I've started a new program? Probably not, sadly, but it took the Doctor ten regenerations to get to David Tennant, so maybe 10's a good number for me too.

I'm just your average geeky, blue-haired, happily married art director starting my journey over yet again. But every try at anything fails until one doesn't, so here we go again!!

I love to cook and I'm damn good at it (I can provide references!) ...

I'm just your average geeky, blue-haired, happily married art director starting my journey over yet again. But every try at anything fails until one doesn't, so here we go again!!

I love to cook and I'm damn good at it (I can provide references!) That's proving to make things much easier, because I can make healthy options that don't taste like sacrifice and sadness. It helps that I have a partner who will eat anything I put in front of him.

The boy and I are adopting a philosophy of moderation, choosing whole foods over the gimmicky and chemical-laden "light" and "diet" foods (we should be excited to eat every calorie), and committing to "sweating every day." While he doesn't have the pounds to lose that I do, he's getting in shape too, and this is the first time we've truly worked *together* on our health. So far we're both going strong and super optimistic! Is this time time I make it happen?

My Goals:
Ultimate goal: When I hit a size 14, a pair of Guess? Jeans. This was my first "when I get skinny" goal as a kid, and I never achieved it. I know I can do it this time.

Also, a pair of Fluevog knee boots that fit my calves without alterations. Maybe it could happen!

My Program:
1. Never stop measuring. Tracking food is key.

2. Every little bit counts.
10 minutes of exercise is better than none. A short walk is better than nothing.

3. Eat what tastes good. (Keep it natural)
I don't like artificial sweeteners or the chemicals used in many "light" or "fat free" products.

4. Cook at home
I have control over what I make, from portions to ingredients. It just makes sense.

Thanks for the add! I added you back. Just curious, but where do you live? That RenFaire scenery looks familiar...is it the Anne Arundel county one in Maryland, or do they all kinda look the same?

thank you for the feed back on the fit bit - I appreciate it. Is there a fee to be connected to the program? And if so, what is the cost ? My niece says she paid to be connected so I am wondering. Thanks, emoticon
