Getting fit for pregnancy and for life!

I have struggled with my weight for most of my life. I was always a chubby kid. My parents weren't too concerned with eating healthy, so my brother and I were always heavy kids. I started dieting when I was about 12 and haven't stopped since then.

Since high school, my weight has yo-yoed up and down. I lose, I gain, I lose, I gain. I'm ready to put an end to this cycle. I got down to 145 pounds in September 2011 and have since gotten back up to where I am now. I'm not ...

Since high school, my weight has yo-yoed up and down. I lose, I gain, I lose, I gain. I'm ready to put an end to this cycle. I got down to 145 pounds in September 2011 and have since gotten back up to where I am now. I'm not happy in a heavier body and I certainly don't feel healthy. I just got diagnosed with PCOS and am taking medication, so hopefully that will help me finally get my weight under control.

I'm doing this for a few reasons. First, I want to get healthy because my husband and I are trying to get pregnant. I want to be as healthy as possible when we do get pregnant. Second, I want to be healthy for life. I hate how I feel when I am overweight. I feel big, sluggish, and just icky. I want to feel fit and healthy.

My Goals:
#1 - Reach a healthy BMI.

#2 - Reach my goal weight of 150 - 160 pounds.

My Program:
Eat a vegetarian diet consisting of lots of fruits and veggies, tofu, beans, nuts, and whole grains. Eliminate processed foods as much as possible.

Cardio 5x a week

Hot Yoga 1x a week

Strength Training 3x a week

Personal Information:
I live in Evansville, Indiana.

I have an amazing, supportive husband who pushes me to be my best.

I have two dogs that I absolutely love - a pitbull/chow mix named Cali and a mini-dachshund named Dixie.

Eliminate processed foods as much as possible - you are right. Changing what we eat is the way to lose weight. I did it and lost 91 pounds.
