Transforming Jess- Becoming Stronger, Physically, Emotionally, Mentally
Hey my name is Jess. 24 years old. Loving and living life, trying to be the best person I can be. I am a massage therapist, living in the wonderful city of San Francisco. I have a wonderful, amazing, SEXY boyfriend who loves me exactly the way I am. I LOVE to travel, shop, hike, swim,.... all that good stuff. I just don't want my weight to ever hold me back from doing (or feeling comfortable doing) anything anymore. I've been battling with weight issues my whole life. I've been ...
I've been yo-yo dieting since I was 14, going up and down 20/30 or so lbs almost every year. And every time I would gain the weight back, I'd gain just a little more then the time before. Funny thing is, I love to work out. I love to be healthy. I am a swimmer. I am (was) and athlete. I am VERY knowledgable in exercise and sport science, holistic medicine, stress management, nutrition.... but do I always practice what I preach? That would be a No. I gotta get it together. I am young. I don't want to lose weight just for vanity's sake, but so I can be even more active and productive then I already am. In 2012 I decided to get the lapband surgery done. I needed to stop the cycle I was putting myself through and commit. It's been a struggle for sure. No matter how much research you do, or how many people you talk to, nothing can prepare you for what your body/mind go through after bariatric surgery. I paid out of pocket for my lapband surgery, as well as my fills. It has actually made me realize exactly how bad my food addiction actually is. I am not giving up though. I am also struggling with a thyroid condition that I have had a very hard time getting under control. ON MY WAY TO LOSING 69 lbs!
