Just a mom trying to set a healthy example

At 33, I'm in the same position a lot of people are. I'm married. Raising kids. Working full time. Generally feels like I just don't have any extra time. I'm fairly newly married (it will be 2 years on May 17) and between us we have 4 daughters (3 mine - ages 12, 11 and 7 and 1 his - age 11). As a teen, I struggled with body image and food issues and it developed into some majorly bad habits - including a period of time where I was starving myself. As a mom, I don't want that for my girls. ...

As a mom, I don't want that for my girls.

Over the last 2 years, I've gained about 20 lbs (no big deal) and went from a size 4 to a size 8. I was ok with that but then found out my cholesterol was up again. Not good. Then, my size 8 started to fit a little snug. I started thinking about a change but am really not a fan of "diets" so I just didn't really do anything.

Now, we're planning a vacation. A trip to Vegas in July. Before I can lounge by the pool, I've got to get back to the body I'd love to have- not a big change. I just want to develop better habits a lose a few pounds (10 or so). The vacation is the catalyst to help me achieve my goals and I'm hoping that, by doing so, I will show my girls that you can be healthy without starving yourself.

Get back to my preferred weight range (about 130 lbs)

Lower my cholesterol

Show my kids that trying to lose weight and live healthy isn't about fad diets and starvation - it's about a lifestyle change and making smart choices.

My Program:
No "program" really. I'm just drinking water more than anything else. I'm eating healthier options most of the time and when I eat junk, I eat less of it. And I'm exercising every day for at least 10-15 minutes and more if I can manage to squeeze it in.

Personal Information:
Happily married mommy of a houseful of girls.
