I firmly believe that feeling happy inside your skin is a choice that only you can make. Positive affirmations are key... looking at yourself in the mirror and OUT LOUD telling yourself, "Hey, I'M here for you. I love you. I AM beautiful, I AM a success, and even if I don't reach my ideal weight I am still worth loving."
It is incredible how much of a weight off your shoulders doing this will remove, you will feel lighter and happier. And knowing there is a community here to encourage you along they way, and especially if there is Christ in your heart, you can feel safe that you are not alone. Chat with me anytime, I believe in you. - Elaine 1233 days ago
I saw a post you had written - I don't know when - about being single and doing this alone. I know what you mean, and I also know what you mean about the re-starts. I joined SP in January 2011 and right away I lost about 35 lbs because I wanted it so badly that I was logging everything and doing fitness daily - I even began running (slowly, mind you) and I started competing with myself to be faster than I was the time before. Then my dad died and I went into a deep depression, and I got back up to where I was when I started. I was so discouraged, but I decided to try again. I know I am not giving it 100% like I had been before and like I know I should be, and like I hope to be again - SOON! I have lost 6 lbs since I started trying to lose again in February, which is better than gaining, which is what I have been doing consistently for the past 23 months.
Sorry for the novel. Maybe we can chat sometime and try to give each other some encouragement, if you want. 1235 days ago
