Thinking Out Loud

I am excited to have found Spark People and KNOW that it will help me win my weight loss battle. I have tried all kinds of quick weight loss plans the past several years to no avail. It took me a long time to put the weight on and it will take a long time to take it off but darn it, I am impatient and want it to fall off. I am excited to have found Spark People and KNOW that it will help me win my weight loss battle. I have tried all kinds of quick weight loss plans the past several years to no avail. It took me a long time to put the weight on and it will take a long time to take it off but darn it, I am impatient and want it to fall off. I started Sparking August 23 but did not get serious about following a plan for a couple of weeks. It was too much of a change and too many other distractions -- in other words -- too many things to make excuses about :-(

I finally realized that if I am not serious about doing the work to lose the weight, it will not happen so I have settled down and seeing the number on the scale slowly moving in the right direction. Naturally this motivates me more to continue on the SP path.

Personal Information:
My husband and I have lived in Orange County, California for 39 years and love it here. I have three daughters, two of whom also live here and two grandchildren!

Other Information:
I like to cook and enjoy trying new recipes. I read mysteries and biographies and love to go to the movies. 24 was my favorite TV show and I am so sad it it no longer on TV. I am taking photography classes at the local junior college and also Pilates which I love!

I know how you feel about being ashamed for gaining when y0u are trying to lose because I do the same thing but we have to be kinder and more forgiving of ourselves. We just have to dig in and start over remembering how it felt to not do well and tell ourselves that WE CAN DO IT and WE WILL DO IT! emoticon

I enjoyed your comment on my blog. I'm ashamed to say I've GAINED 11 pounds since I wrote it. I should be ashamed, but I intend to work hard to overcome my bad habits.
