Fit for life!!!

So tomorrow Feb 21st will mark my 1st anniversary of committing myself wholeheartly to fitness and nutrition. I'm so proud of myself. I have always enjoyed working out but never made it a daily routine in my life. What a difference that makes! I have grown a lot this year. I lost 17 pounds which doesn't seem like much but I didn't have a huge amount to lose. I'm stronger and so much wiser about fitness and nutrition. I challenge anyone who really thinks that they just can't lose those ...

My Goals:
Completed my first 5K in Aug this has been a goal of mine I'm not a natural runner so this is tough for me. I would love to finish a 5K in under 25 minutes.

My Program:
I'm currently doing the BFL program. I'm in a group of about 15 other girls and it helps keep me motivated. I hope to lower my BF% and get toned for summer!!

Personal Information:
I'm 36 married mother of 2 and just want to get my health and body back to what it used to be. Before I started this program back in Feb I really didn't think that I could do it but I'm focused and just trying to keep everything going.

YES the power of prayer is amazing. Another testament to that is my brother said he sat down to eat dinner and said a prayer to keep his family safe and about 30 min. later he got the call that I was in an accident but I was ok! Hi!
Thanks for your input regarding ITBS. I think my problem is the same as yours; I need to strengthen in the hip area (I also go to a muay thai kickboxing class where I have trouble turning my hip over when kicking due to my hips being tight/weak).
I'm glad to hear that some things seem to be working, like Yoga. I've been considering getting back into hot yoga anyways, so maybe this will be the catalyst!

I go to yoga classes. There is a gym around the corner from me, but I don't belong to it. I pay $5 a visit just to go to yoga and the instructor is excellent. In an hour we stretch and strengthen in so many different ways!

I also go to a yoga studio when I am on vacation near the coast. That one is more spiritual and I have a hard time saying "om" and having the instructor sing to us. I just try to get past those parts.

I like yoga classes instead of a dvd, because it motivates me to hold strength or stretching poses I want to give up on when I see 50-70 year olds doing it. At home I might want to do 30 minutes of yoga whereas you are trapped in class to do the full 60 minutes. I am going to try a DVD when we go to the coast this weekend though. I hope I like it, because it would save money and my husband would do the DVD with me.

If you get stiff at all, I recommend yoga!

Great job on the race-glad you had fun! Do you still want to visit about your health and fitness goals soon? Perhaps via email (ccfett@hotmail.com).
Also, you asked about Turbo FIRE. What all would you like to know? Does your friend have Turbo Jam? I really like the program myself-I haven't done it lately as I am in a P90X rotation (I did TF previous to that) but it is so fun, a great workout, and very versatile!
What else is new this week?
