NEW GOAL:
220 by Nov. 26th (Thanksgiving!! ~better not blow it!)

My weight loss journey:

I started gaining a lot of weight when I was in 5th and 6th grade. I would come home and binge eat after school. I was pretty short and around 165. I got picked on a lot in middle school, which left lasting body image scars and turned into an eating disorder in 8th grade. I got a lot taller and lost a lot of weight, and started high school looking pretty thin, around 135-140. My weight fluctuated some, even though I barely ate (around 600 cal/day) to maintain 140. I was not happy and constantly hungry.

My weight drifted up throughout high school, but I ran on the cross country team and felt pretty healthy. My weight went up again to around 170 with the stress of starting college, so I joined Sparkpeople and lost about 25 pounds! I limited my diet too much again though, and I was not happy and always hungry. The stress of college brought me to a new emotional low.

I looked great at around 150 and was feeling pretty healthy, but a lot of emotional baggage was boiling under the surface. My weight ballooned during my last two years of college, first to around 185, then to 200 the following summer. I couldn't control my weight, it just kept going up. Over the past 3 years, I've been able to maintain my weight around 215 (with a weight loss attempt last year that brought me down to 196), but after an ankle injury I gained another 10 lbs! Now I am at my highest weight ever, 228! It's so scary to see that number, but it's also hugely motivating to bring about change.

Now is great time to change, since I just bought a house that could use a few improvements as well!! I'll be in a new environment. I just started graduate school this fall, and I'm finally feeling emotionally stable and happy with my life! Now I just need a body to match my insides :)

Hey, sorry I am just getting back to your comment on my page, but I got lazy and unmotivated. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things and be on here more. Keep in touch, good luck with the weight loss and school! emoticon

Hey!! Thanks for the offer of support. I will definitely take you up on it :) The holidays were lots of fun, but bad for my diet. I was avoiding signing back on to Spark People, so I just saw your message. But my commitment is 100% renewed!! I'll be your buddy!! You looked amazing in that bikini, and you will again soon. Let's do this!! Haha.
