Preparing my Mind and Body for Becoming a Doctor

I am a third year medical student and I would like to get down to 125-130 lbs. I have never weighed that little, at least not since middle school. I am soo excited that I am believing in myself enough to make that goal :) So, that's where I'm headed. My road blocks are craving unhealthy foods when I'm stressed, using the excuse that I am too tired from studying all day to exercise, and just giving up when I fall off the wagon once in a while. Lets hope that if I take it slow this time around I ...

I am soo excited that I am believing in myself enough to make that goal :) So, that's where I'm headed. My road blocks are craving unhealthy foods when I'm stressed, using the excuse that I am too tired from studying all day to exercise, and just giving up when I fall off the wagon once in a while. Lets hope that if I take it slow this time around I can stick with it. It's been a bit of a rocky road so far, with wait loss and then weight gain and then weight loss. But I am still working on myself and I know I will reach my goal.

I have an amazing support system of friends and family. I feel so fortunate for this everyday.

no longer be embarrassed when exercising outside or around others

get a better self image and stop being so self deprecating

feel happy with what I look at in the mirror

feel comfortable in my clothes

My Program:
I am taking it slow and just cutting back on my calories and fat.

Now that I am rotating in the hospital my life has gotten a lot busier so I decided to commit to at least 4 days of working out each week, that way if I don't make it every day I won't be discouraged. I plan on running on my treadmill and doing strength training.

Personal Information:

In my third year of medical school at MSUCOM, doing rotations at St. John Macomb/Oakland hospitals

Other Information:
I love my friends and family soo much

I love to read, do yoga, watch movies, listen to music, and especially laugh

If its ok I am going to add you as a friend. I see we have about the same goals: I weigh near 170 and you were there (congrats on the weightloss!!!). Also I love yoga, music, laughing and many other things. I just feel having friends on here with same interests + weight loss goals helps. :)

I just saw your message board entry about anger. I thought I'd tell you in case you don't know that under anger is frustration, under that sadness, under that hurt, and under hurt love. There are more emotional layers but this is the basic summary. Everyone can transform anger by asking 'What is the frustration, sadness, hurt, loss, and love?' You can go straight to 'What was the underlying hurt that flowed from what love?' This is called emotional management. One side-effect is that this work will make you happier and thinner! By, the way, you communicate beautifully!
