I will not be consumed by old habits but I am struggling with them big time.

My name is Karen and I have been a member of Spark since June 26th 2008. I was at my highest weight 378 lbs. In the past couple years I have managed to get down to 294, then back up to 335 in the past year. Now I am back at Spark again weighing 315. I need this site because I can't do this alone. I found a wonderful place to go to three times a week for water aerobics and I am still walking almost everyday. I just have to get this food thing down.

I was recently diagnosed with Arthritis in my lower spine (I have had pain in my back and legs for a long time) My doctor told me the pain is from my sciatic nerve and femoral nerve being pinched. Weight loss will help to relieve this pain. So now I have more reasons to get in shape. And one huge motivator (pain relief) Happy to be back and looking forward to seeing how some of my old spark buddies are doing.

My Goals:
My goal is to walk everyday and to make smarter choices on the foods I eat. Also to drink lots of water 64oz plus a day.

My Program:
My program is walking everyday 1-3 miles and working out 3 times a week. I try to drink 4 16oz bottles of water every day and eat whole foods including lots of fruit and vegies.

My name is Karen I am in my mid forties. I live in Portland, Or. with my guy, John and our dog, Nigel.

Other Information:
I love to write poetry and short stories, I am currently writing my first novel. I love to paint, draw, make jewelery. I do needle point, and crochet. I guess I just love to create. I love music, antiques, Movies, TV, and spending time with family and friends. (I had been away from all these things for nearly five years, until six months ago. Coming here to Spark has opened up my world again. I have hope now.)

Hello there, I was just reading your home page. I am wondering how you are doing and if you are having any success at losing weight.

It's been along time since you wrote a blog. It would be nice to catch up wth you and what's been happening in your life. I love blogging. It kind of wraps up my day. Try a few. Its' addicting, at least I think it is and your friends here would like to read about your day, your thoughts, your journey, the ups, the downs anything you want to write about.
