I've got ~100+ lbs to lose and I am a (20+ year "recovering" junk-food) vegetarian. I've been eating a vegan diet since Dec. 1st 2011 and went low-fat (mostly) on Jan. 20th 2012.

My wonderful husband and I deserve better... we shouldn't have to worry about my weight... we should be able to just go out & play! That's why I'm here... to get healthier so I can enjoy a long healthy life. My body is where I'm gonna spend the rest of my life... it's time to clean house.

I want to be less nervous about doing physical activities... The only way to get over that fear is to work out every day and keep a positive attitude by accepting, loving, and really appreciating myself.

My Goals:
- workout everyday (at least a half-hour of walking etc or strength-training or cleaning.

- be more social everyday by writing and visiting. Go see my family once and at least one friend a week

- lose the extra weight slowly by creating better habits for myself... I want to have a sustainable healthy weight and great health so I can fully enjoy my life!


My Program:
(these are all goals for now)

I do a combination cardio and strength-training program everyday for 20-30 minutes in the morning and additional cardio if possible in the evening (like a walk w my honey).

Low-sodium low-fat vegan diet, get at least 35-45g fiber/day, and try to stay within my recommended calorie, carb, fat, and protein grams.

I try to record my nutrition and fitness achievements in the SP trackers and blog.

Eat a good breakfast and stop eating 3 hrs before bed.

10 raw veggies and 2 raw fruits daily.

Tips:
Reward tenacity and successes by doing something fun everyday (like play music or read poetry). Weekly... go out to see live music or do something else that's really fun & cultural.

Take a list of food items heavy on fiber, veg protein, fruits and vegetables to the farmers market or grocery store.

Be sure to get enough protein early in the day (soy drink mix and firm tofu). Replace fried snacks and chips with raw veggies, grapefruit, and popcorn... and activities!

5th L-TGW ~125-130 (the BMI calculator says I could go down to 118 & still be healthy... 125 is half of my heaviest weight)

1st - serious makeover =)
2nd - wear ivory hemp dress to an appropriate event w DH
3rd - PARTY at our place
4th - handmade (&/or fair-trade eco fabrics) core wardrobe to start building on
HX note: I was 245 when I started 2/19/07... lost 15lbs quickly then gained it back plus 6 more, did exactly the same thing in 2011... scary!

    Hey, if you ever want to learn Indian recipes, showmethecurry.com is excellent! With a lot of Indian cooking, it's very repetitive. The basic ingredients are usually just repeated but in different proportions. What I love about that website is it's user friendly and they have videos that walk you through the recipes!
