This year for my new year's resolutions I vowed to do a few things and have stuck to them all:

1 - quit smoking cold turkey.

2 - quit alcohol for 60 days (so as not to relapse and smoke again but I think I'm going to go longer. Not really missing alcohol).

3 - Stop drinking caffeine. No tea, no coffee... just green tea.

4 - No eating out whatsoever for 60 days. After that, twice per week MAXIMUM and this includes coffee shops, so that ...

3 - Stop drinking caffeine. No tea, no coffee... just green tea.

4 - No eating out whatsoever for 60 days. After that, twice per week MAXIMUM and this includes coffee shops, so that green tea better be from home.

5 - Exercise (cardio) for at least 30 minutes each day.

6 - Eat breakfast every day.

7 - Take vitamin supplements every day.


That's it folks. So here are my results at day 47 of the year:

- I have not smoked one puff this year.
- I have gone from 195 pounds to 180 and I can almost see a six-pack but it's still a few months off from bragging rights but everyone at work is commenting on how different I look.
- Two days before 2011 I booked an appointment with my doctor because I thought I was dying of an ulcer or something. Two weeks later she sent me for blood work. Tested EVERYTHING. I had nothing and now I have no symptoms or pain at all.
- I can do 35 more consecutive pushups than I could before I started all this thanks to http://hundredpushups.com/
- I started with a little bit of debt and in 47 days I have a savings account with almost $2000 and no debt.
