Billie, thank you so much for reading and commenting on my blog about going through hell. I really appreciate your sharing your thoughts about that. I can so relate to what you said--that life feels a little empty without the things we rely on to make it more bearable--like excess food and alcohol. One of my big problems is boredom, which invariably turns my thoughts to food. It's almost impossible to choose to go for a long walk instead of reaching for the beer or chips, but the only way to start going in the right direction is just to grit my teeth and drag myself in the direction of non-consumable things to fill this void.
