Awaken Your Spirit to Adventure...

Awaken your spirit to adventure;
Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk;
Soon you will be home in a new rhythm,
For your soul senses the world that awaits you.

~ John O'Donohue ~

My Goals:
I have goals….. and would like to share them.

1. Exercise, (walk, garden, bike) 5 days a week.
2. Visit the gym for resistance exercise 1 day a week.
3. Record exercise each time.
4. Track calories 3 days a week minimum.
5. Spend time reading spiritual, motivational or poetry daily.
6. Visit the hiking trails near my home at least weekly when the trails are not ice covered.

Strive every day to be healthy, physically and spiritually. Goal weight: 20 more pounds

Fight getting depressed over setbacks.

Stay positive and focused.

My Program:
Faithfully tracking food and calories. Walking 3 days a week this winter. Will turn it up several notches in the spring and begin biking.

Deal with setbacks as positively as I can and try not to get depressed.

Personal Information:
Turned 64 this year.... (yikes) and have worked as an RN for 30 years, mostly in ER and in a diabetes clinic. 5 years ago made the career switch to teach high school. Semi retired now and continue to work part time as an RN and Certified Diabetes Educator. Married to Kathi, also a nurse, now on disability due to multiple chronic health issues, including stage 4 lymphoma, now in remission.

Other Information:
I love to garden and ride my bike. Also hiking, watching classic movies, listening to podcasts, reading poetry, listening to folk, classic rock and outlaw country music. My wife and I love spontaneous road trips.

I am a fan of the poets:
Mary Oliver
Ted Kooser
e. e. cummings
Charles Bukowski
David Whyte

So happy to see you are getting back on track! emoticon
I am hoping I can soon do the same. After being hurt at work by someone I have trusted for over 25 years, I am just having a rough time. I will pull through this, I know. Keep on sparking!

Cold up there, Bill? Perhaps you are used to it. emoticon
Still hitting the trails?
I have a warm couple of days, before the blast gets here and I, once again, am gardening.
Just a friendly reminder how good it will feel, on the 30th, after all the effort we put in, until then.
I am doing well, this week and my hunch is, so are you.
Have a happy healthy day!
Chris

Thank you for the flowers, Bill and yes, we did make it through October.
You did very well and I scratched by with a good bit of gardening.

With that winding down, I have turned to a yoga challenge.
Good for the body and soul. Indoor activity as well.
My mat has come from it's too long place in the corner and was happy to be used, this morning!
A great start!
I feel good about November and the accomplishments that will come with it.
Keep up the good work and thank you again.
