Awaken Your Spirit to Adventure...

Awaken your spirit to adventure;
Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk;
Soon you will be home in a new rhythm,
For your soul senses the world that awaits you.

~ John O'Donohue ~

Bill, you could never let us Firecrackers down! Whenever you need help staying focused, take a minute to remember why you started this journey & recognize all of the hard work you've already put in to get to your current stage.

So nice seeing you online. I'm on very little, so I'm mostly "out of the loop" unfortunately.

LOL I'll be sad when my journey's over too, Bill, 'cause it will mean I'm dead!

Thank you , Bill. I will start coming back a little at a time.

Today was Kenny's memorial, at my home.

Not one drop of rain and everything was perfect! Beautiful day, filled with family, neighbors and friends, lots of flowers, gifts and cards, as well as more food than you could possibly imagine.
Even a dog friend of Kenny's and naturally Tigger. (Our cat)
Birds galore, including many cardinals and catbirds, Lighting bugs showed up to light the night and a breeze blew gently across our day.

The eulogy given by my niece Melanie was wonderful, as well as her reading of a poem that I thought was one that should be shared.
Ashley gave a tearful message of love about her dear oldest brother and ended with scripture. Nick spoke from the heart, looking about the crowd and sharing stories, that included, each person, with Kenny over the years. It was difficult, but he got through.
My good neighbors and an Aunt shared stories, and many more wrote theirs down for us to add to the memory book.
Prayer shawls were given to Ash, Nick and myself.
A neighbor loved a photo of Kenny, form about age 9 or 10, so much, that she will be painting it, for us.

The gardens were in there glory.

We could feel Kenny and Papa, there with us. They had the same tilt of head, slight smile, quiet way and nodding heads. emoticon emoticon
Love was all around.

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers.
In some ways I am glad to get through the day and others not.

Tonight I will start in a book, that Sean (Melanie's husband) gave us, Chicken soup for the grieving soul.

Kenny's birthday is on June 24th. He would be 34.

Perhaps I could start with a blog on Kenny's memorial garden and the healing power of creating this peaceful spot.
It has also helped with my fitness, I might add.

I hope that you are doing well and I look forward to catching up.

Chris

Thank you Bill for stopping by my blog school gardens and leaving your nice comment. I think it would be tough to do this in the northern states where the school year is too cold to grow. Maybe as a summer extra credit course.
